Radix Bupleuri is commonbulk medicinein China.It is often combined with other drugs to treat colds,fever,asthenic fever,chills etc.Because of the important medicinal value,the demand of Bupleurum has increased dramatic ally.Therefore,it is urgently to exploreBupleurumvarieties with high-yield and high-quality to ensure large area of cultivation for Bupleurumand meet the market demand.In this study,the growth and development characteristics,physiological indexes,active components and differences of different varieties of Bupleurum chinense ChuanbeichaiNO.1 were analyzed in this paper.by contrast with the commercial varieties of Bupleurum marginatumand ChuanhongchaiNO.1 to provide a technical and theoretical basis for validation and application of ChuanbeichaiNO.1.The major results in present study are as follows:1.Through multiple comparisons and regression analysis,There are differences insomeaspectssuchasseedlength,seedwidth,species-basedindex,1000-seedweight.The seed length,seed width and 1000-grain weight of ChuanbeichaiNO.1 were the best,and the Bupleurum marginatum was the second,ChuanhongchaiNO.1 lowest,The regression equation is y=1.328 + 9.882x1-13.967x2-0.577x3(F = 5.04 8,P = 0.008),y is the 1000-seed weight,x1is the seed length,x2 is the seed wideth,x3is the species-based index.2.At different growth stages,the relative standard deviation values of Chu anbeichaiNO.1 were all relatively small.Moreover,plants were tidy,individual difference was tiny,and genetic characters were stable.Compared with the Bupleurum marginatum and ChuanhongchaiNO.1,the ChuanbeichaiNO.1had more obvious superiority on the yield of roots and output of seeds.3.There are differences between the provenances of chlorophyll and root activity.Among them,the content of chlorophyll a and root activity of ChuanbeiChaiNO.1 were 68.48%and 40.88%higher than those of Bupleurum marginatum,33.62%and 10.5%higher than that of ChuanhongChaiNo.1.4.The results showed that the content of active ingredients in different varieties of Bupleurum was different.Its content of total saponins,total flavonoids,polysaccharides and Mg are higher than Bupleurum marginatum with 7.73%35.56%16.28%and 9.25%respectively,and higher than ChuanhongchaiNO.1 with 137.28%64.87%?27.7%and28.93%respectively.The result of component content investigation in different organs of Bupleurum showed that the total saponin,carbohydrates and trace element content in root is higher than which in stems and leaves.And the flavonoids in stems and leaves are higher than that in root of Bupleurum.The content of saponin,polysaccharide and Mg in root is which in stems and leaves of ChuanbeichaiNO.1 with 3.44times,1.37 times and 1.49times respectively,but the total favonoids in stems and leaves is which in root with 3.15tims.The above results showed that ChuanbeichaiNO.1 is an excellent new commercial cultivar.It showed significant advantage in the content of bioactive components.This line can be recommended authorize of new commercial varieties of Bupleurum and application in Sichuan area.5.The combined performance of Chuanbeichai No.1 in several major cultivation areas in Sichuan was better than that of Bupleurum marginatum and Chuanhongchai No.1.Its main root length,main root diameter,root volume,root fresh weight,root dry weight,total saponin,saponin a,and saponin D were 30.14%,3.55%,3.82%,11.76%,and 10.16%,respectively,compared to Bupleurum marginatum 5.03%,16.67%,3 8.57%,28.96%The corresponding indicators were 10.75%69.23%,91.09%,88.99%,159.83%,117.24%,67.24%,and 47.5%higher than Chuan Hongchai 1,respectively.At the same time,among the several major cultivation areas in Sichuan,Qingchuan produces excellent production of chaihu and its active ingredients.Hugen produces 9.26%,22.92%,and 33.11%of Chaihu,which is higher than Wangcang,Anzhou,and Yucheng,respectively.The content of total saponins,saponins a,saponins D,and total flavonoids was 23.02%,31.25%,3.7%,and 25.45%higher than Wangcang,26.12%,40.1%,3 3.33%,and 13.11%higher than Fucheng,30.7%,90.91%,33.33%,and 3 5.35%higher than Anzhou.
