As a characteristic melon in Xinjiang,Hami melon is loved by people.With the quality improvement of people's living standards,people's requirement is getting higher and higher for Hami melon.But in the cleaning stage before the melon packing.Removing off dirt and others by means of artificial cleaning,inefficiency and high labor costs.Therefore,it is necessary to design a kind of Hami melon cleaning device to improve the classification effect and appearance quality of Hami melon.In this paper,advanced equipment and modern detection technology were used to measure the basic material characteristic parameters of Hami melon.Based on the material characteristic parameters of Hami melon and modern mechanical design methods,a new waterless cleaning device for Hami melon was designed which meets testing requirements of current machine vision.The design and test of the relevant parts are completed,and the whole machine parameters and performance were determined.The main research results were as follows:(1)A design scheme of waterless cleaning device based on double helix brush was proposed,and the waterless cleaning function of Hami melon in conveying process was realized which provided support for online detection of Hami melon.(2)100 Hami melon samples were collected to measure the material characteristics of Hami melon.The material characteristics included melon mass,volume,vertical diameter,transverse diameter and other shape dimension information.Besides it also included elastic modulus,damage force and other texture parameters.(3)Based on the material characteristics of Hami melon,the whole structure design of Hami melon waterless cleaning device was accomplished by using CAXA2013 and SolidWorks 2014.and the cleaning mechanism,frame,angle adjustment mechanism,power mechanism and others key components were also improved.(4)The design and calculation of key parts and components were carried out,including pitch,brush wire length,axial distance,the helix line length and other parameters.Calculation results showed that 120 mm,130 mm and 140 mm were suitable for pitch selection.The brush wire of length was selected as 25 mm.The axial distance were selected as 230 mm,255 mm and 280 mm.When the pitch was 120 mm,the length of the helix line(S120)was 5167.80 mm.When the pitch was 130 mm,the length of the helix line(S130)was 4792.55 mm.When the pitch was 140 mm,the length of the helix line(S140)was 4472.76 mm.(5)The prototype of Hami melon waterless cleaning test platform was built.The brush roller pitch,brush roller axial distance,brush diameter and dip angle were selected as the experimental factors.The cleaning rate was selected as the test index and the orthogonal test was carried out.The range analysis was carried out by means of comprehensive balance method,the pitch 130 mm,brush wire diameter 0.4 mm,dip angle 2.6°,axial distance 255 mm were determined as the better parameter combination.
