Bamboo as one of grass family member is different from other plants for its long juvenile phase and usually dies after flowering.This brings difficulties for disclosing the phenomenon of bamboo flowering.At the sametime,bamboo industry is playing a more and more important role in poverty alleviation and economic development,bamboo flowering can make nothing left of these advantages because that bamboo always died after flowering.Studying bamboo flowering have important means in theory and economy.As a floral activator,Arabidopsis PIN1-type parvulin 1,Pin1 At,controls floral transition by accelerating cis/trans isomerization of the phosphorylated Ser/Thr-Pro motifs in MADS-domain transcription factors of CO 1(SOC1)and AGAMOUS-LIKE 24(AGL24)in Arabidopsis.It is unclear that whether Pin1-like in bamboo infulences flowering.In 2014,our group cloned bamboo PIN1-type parvulin 1 gene PvPin1,a homolog of Pin1 At from Phyllostachys violascens.However its functions wrere also verified by further experiments.The main research ? results are as follows:??(1)PvPin1 was closely related to Pin1-like proteins in monocots plants.PvPin1 contained only a C-terminal PPIase catalytic domain with four additional amino acids Pin1 At and other Pin1-like proteins in plant.(2)Comparison of the PvPin1 gene and cDNA sequences showed that the PvPin1 gene had 2 exons and 1 introns like Pin1-like in rice,Arabidopsis,soya,tobacoo,corn and lotus.(3)Overexpression of PvPin1 caused lately flowering by downregulating AGL24 and SOC1 expression in the wild-type Arabidopsis.(4)Overexpression of PvPin1 in the wild-type rice caused lately flowering by upregulating OsMADS56.(5)Subcellular localization of PvPin1 showed its localization both in the cytolemma and nucleus.(6)Promoter analysis of PvPin1 indicated that ABA and MeJA regulate PvPin1 expression.Taken together,Pv Pin1 may be flowering repressor delaying flowering time in Phyllostachys violascens.
