| This experiment was conducted to test the effects of different additive levels of alfalfa flavonoids on production performance, nutrient utilization, blood biochemical indexes and immune performance of Yangzhou Geese. Two hundred and forty 21-day-old healthy male Yangzhou Geese with similar body weight were randomly divided into four groups with six replicates in each group and 10 Yangzhou Geese per replicate. The Yangzhou Geese in control group were only fed with basal diet, and the experimental groups(Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ)were fed with basal diet supplemented with 150,300 and 450 mg/kg alfalfa flavonoids, respectively. The test period was 42 days and the pre-feeding period was 7 days. The effects of alfalfa flavonoids on growth performance, slaughter performance, organ development, intestinal development, routine nutrient composition and meat quality, nutrient metabolic rate, blood biochemical indexes and immune performance of Yangzhou Geese were studied through animal feeding and metabolism trials. The results were shown as follows:1.Feed-to-gain ratio, live weight, carcass weight, slaughter rate,semi-eviscerated weight,semi-eviscerated rate, eviscerated weight, eviscerated rate, leg muscle weight, leg muscle yield of Yangzhou Geese aged from 28 to 70 days had no significant difference between each group by adding different levels of alfalfa flavonoids(P>0.05).300 mg/kg treatment group could significantly increase the final weight, the average daily feed intake, average daily gain and the feed-to-gain ratio of Yangzhou Geese, and could significantly increase breast muscle weight and ratio, and tibial weight(P<0.05),which improved the growth performance and most slaughter performance of Yangzhou Geese.2.There was no significant effect of different levels of alfalfa flavonoids supplementation on heart weight, liver weight, glandular mass and length, width and weight of cecum and rectum of Yangzhou Geese(P>0.05).Significant increase was found in 300mg/kg treatment group on the indexes of immune organs in the spleen and bursa. And significant decrease was found on the pH of glandular and gastric stomach(10.6%and 10.9%,respectively).The length and weight of the duodenum, jejunum and ileum were significantly increased(P<0.05).To some extent,it improved and promoted the development of the intestinal tract.3.There was no significant effect of each group on water,CF,meat color,pH and water holding capacity of the breast and leg muscle of Yangzhou Geese aged from 28 to 70 days(P>0.05).But compared with the control group, the CF of leg muscle in each treatment group increased by 5.78%,6.10%and 4.78%,respectively(P<0.05).300mg/kg treatment group significantly increased IMP content and tenderness of breast and leg muscle(P<0.05).4.There was no significant effect on the dry matter, total energy, crude ash,NDF,ADF and phosphorus apparent digestibility of Yangzhou Geese in 300mg/kg treatment group(P>0.05).And 300mg/kg treatment group significantly increased apparent digestibility of CP and Ca.The apparent metabolic rate of CP was increased by 8.15%and 11.10%(P<0.05),respectively,while the apparent digestibility of EE was reduced.5.There was no significant effect of different levels of alfalfa flavonoids supplementation on TP,ALB,GLB and A/G of Yangzhou Geese aged from 28 to 70 days(P>0.05).The contents of TC,TG,LDL and BUN in 300mg/kg treatment group were significantly lowered, while the content of HDL was increased(P<0.05)which improved the blood biochemical indexes of Yangzhou Geese.6.Among the antioxidant indexes, the MDA of the treated group was significantly lower than that of the control group, and 300 mg/kg treatment group reached the lowest point at the age of 49 days and 70 days of Yangzhou Geese(P<0.05).300 mg/kg treatment group significantly increased the content of GSH-Px and SOD(P<0.05).Among the immune indexes,300 mg/kg treatment group significantly increased the content of IgG(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference of IgA and IgM in each group at the age of 49 days and 70 days of Yangzhou Geese(P>0.05).Conclusion:In this experiment, appropriate amount of alfalfa flavonoids supplementation could improve the production performance, promote nutrient digestion and raise the level of serum antioxidant and immunity of Yangzhou Geese, and the excess supplementation might have some side effects on Yangzhou Geese,Therefore,in this test conditions, the optimal supplementation of alfalfa flavonoids was 300mg/kg. |
