The purpose of this experiment was to study the effects of smaller pool feeding patterns on the performance, behavioral activities and plasma index of breeding geese. In the experiment,6950 Lande goose breeds of the same batch with the same health status in the4th laying year were divided into a control group and a test group, with 3 replicates in each group. Each replicate was raised in a goose house with the same construction specifications. The number of three replicates of breeding geese in control group A was 996,891 and 963respectively,and the number of three replicates of breeding geese in test group B was 959,918 and 934.The ratio of male to female in each repetiate group was 1:3.5.The control group used the traditional large pool feeding pattern. The larger pool area was 154.00m~2(±26.87m~2),the water volume was about 54 tons, the water level height was 0.45m(±0.04m),and the water in the large pool was replaced every 96h.The test group used the smaller pool feeding patterns. The area of the smaller pool is 20m~2(±1m~2),the water level is 0.45m(±0.02m),the water volume is about 8 tons, and the water in the small pool was replaced every 24 hours. The pre-trial period is 14 days and the normal trial period is 70 days. The results showed as follows:1)Compared with the control group, the fertilization rate of group B had a downward trend(0.05<P<0.1).The small pool feeding patterns had no significant effect on the average daily feed intake, laying rate, death and culling rate and hatching rate(P>0.05).2)Compared with the control group, the egg weight of group B increased significantly by 3.66%(P<0.05),and the weight of egg shells of group B showed an increasing trend(0.05<P<0.1).The smaller pool feeding patterns had no significant effect on egg shape index and eggshell thickness(P>0.05).3)Compared with the control group, the proportions of pool activities and feather combing activities of group B gooses decreased significantly(P<0.05),and the proportion of mating behavior activities decreased significantly(P<0.01);There was no significant difference in the proportions of drinking water behavior and aggressive behavior between the two groups(P>0.05).(4)The results of the water quality index in the middle of the experiment showed that the smaller pool feeding patterns had no significant effect on the number of E.coli, total bacteria, endotoxin, total phosphorus, total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, nitrate, nitrite and phosphate(P>0.05).In the end of the experiment, the number of E.coli, total bacteria, ammonia nitrogen and COD in the pool of group B were significantly reduced compared with the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in total phosphorus and total nitrogen(P>0.05).5)Compared with the control group, the GLU and ALP content in the gander plasma of group B were significantly increased by 34.84%,44.28%(P<0.05),and the ALB content in the gander plasma of group B decreased significantly by 20.20%(P<0.05),and the ALP content in the goose plasma and the Ca content in the gander plasma of group B both had a increasing trend(0.05<P<0.1).The smaller pool feeding pattern had no significant effect on the content of TP,ALB,TC,CREA,UREA,AST,ALT,and CK in male goose plasma(P>0.05),and had no significant effect on GLU、ALB、TG in the goose plasma(P>0.05).6)Compared with the control group, the SOD activity in the goose plasma of group B increased significantly by 9.83%(P<0.01),while the T-AOC in the gander and the goose plasma decreased significantly by 15.58%and 19.9%,respectively.(P<0.01).The smaller pool feeding pattern had no significant effect on the MDA content and GSH-Px activity in the gander plasma and the goose plasma, and SOD content in the gander plasma(P>0.05).7)Compared with the control group,Ig M content of group B in the goose plasma decreased significantly by 19.74%(P<0.05),and Ig A and IFN-αcontent of group B in the goose plasma had declining trend.(0.05<P<0.1).The smaller pool feeding pattern had no significant effect on the content of Ig G,IL-6,avian influenza virus in the gander plasma and the goose plasma,Ig A,Ig M and IFN-αin gander plasma(P>0.05).8)Compared with the control group,T content of group B in the gander plasma was significantly reduced by 26.02%(P<0.01),and LH content of group B in the goose plasma had a downward trend(0.05<P<0.1)).The smaller pool feeding pattern had no significant effect on the content of T3,T4,ACTH,CORT in gander plasma and the content of FSH,PRL,P,E2 in the goose plasma(P>0.05).9)The smaller pool feeding pattern had no significant effect on the plasma of LPS in the gander and the goose(P>0.05).In summary, the smaller pool feeding pattern had no significant effect on production performance,it can improve plasma biochemical indicators such as ALP and GLU,promote nutrient absorption and metabolism, and increase the egg weight.Only for the behavioral activities of the goose, plasma Ig M and Testosterone levels had a negative effect. It can be seen that the 20m~2smaller pool feeding pattern had no significant effect on most of the indicators, and it can basically replace the traditional large pool feeding mode. The negative impact on individual indicators needs further study.
