With the increasing shortage of fresh water resources, vigorously developing water-saving agriculture, promoting water-saving irrigation technology, will be the ways to solve the shortage of agricultural water in most areas. Adding straws to soil to improve the structure of soil and the biological environment of soil, has always been an important research direction in organic green agriculture areas. The experiment used wheat straws for water saving purpose. this kind of method not only makes full use of natural resources and waste, but also reduce the serious environmental pollution caused by straw burning and can effectively reduce soil fertility declining in only chemical fertilizer application. Adding straws to soil also can improve the soil structure and microbial environment. Water retaining agent technology is an high-tech chemical water-saving technology developing rapidly in recent years. In the indoor experiment, the wheat straw and water retaining agent (PAM) mixed according to different mixing ratio, in order to find the optimal scheme. In the experiment the wheat straw and the soil are from the Shanxi Taigu area. The experiment can reduce agricultural economic losses, and can saving the water。The second crop pot experiment, to study the growth index of the pepper with the application of PAM and straws mixed in different ratio, Through analysis the growth date of pepper under different ratio, to find the optimal mixing ratio of straw and PAM, the main results as follows:(1)PAM has a strong water absorption capacity, can improve the soil water holding capacity,Increase the available water in the soil. Only use aquasorb, with the increase of water retention agent, the soil infiltration capacity reduce, it is turns out that:PI (25mg/kg)>P2(50mg/kg)>P3(100mg/kg)。Only use the straw, with the increase of the length of the straw, The soil infiltration capacity becomes strong, it is turns out that:S1(2mm)>S2(5mm)> S3(10mm)。When the straw and PAM mixed, The highest infiltration ratio is S1P1, The lowest infiltration ratio is S1P3, Significant factors affecting the infiltration rate of the water retaining is PAM, Therefore when you use PAM carefully determine the concentration.(2)Pepper pot test datas show that, when only use straws,the pepper growth better than the control test of CK which without any treatment on the growth of pepper. Because straw rot into organic matter can provide some fertilizer for pepper. And the trend is decreased with the increase of the length of straw. The experimental group was added PAM, there was no obvious effect on the pepper growth index. When straws and PAM mixed applicate in the soil, the pepper growth index have been obviouly promoted.The datas level is higher than that of the control group which without any treatment.the largest effect on the pepper is straw, The second is PAM, the research showed that straw and PAM mixed in soil can promote pepper growth...
