As the result of continous cropping in greenhouse, the quality of soil has become a serious problem. In the present study, effects of corn straw filling on the environment, the growth of sweet pepper and tomato. For in greenhouse were studied. The main results as follows:1. Corn straw filling could significantly increased soil temperature in greenhouse, and the average effect was about 2℃. laying straw in the bottom of the lines had better effects on soil temperature than laying between the lines. Under application of 5000 kg corn straw in winter, the time of heat release could last for about 130 days, the releasing peak was in the 3rd to 5th week after straw application. Therefore, for the coincidence of heat releasing peak and lowest temperature, it is better to apply corn straw in November.2. Application of corn straw could significant increased N, P and K in soil, available N, available K and avilable P contents were increased by 20%, 15% and 12%, respectively.3. Application of corn straw could significant increased CO2 concentration in greenhouse, and increasing CO2 level between 10:00 to 11:00 was beyond 50% compared to the control.4. Application of corn straw had significantly positive effects on the growth and yield of sweet pepper and tomao. For the weakly root-regenerated sweet pepper, laying straw between the lines was the proper application method; for the strongly root-regenerated tomato, laying straw in the bottom of line was the proper application method. 5. Application of corn straw significantly increased the quality of sweet pepper and tomato in the middle and later growth stages, and laiying corn straw in the line bottom led to Vc increasing by 20.5%,24.4% in the middle and later stage of tomaoto growth, respectively; and 10.7%, 4.9% in the middle and later stage of sweet growth. laiying corn straw between the lines led to Vc increasing by 12.4%, 5.9% in the middle and later stage of tomaoto growth, respectively; and 9.7%, 5.9% in the middle and later stage of sweet growth.
