In view of the difficulty in lacking of planting methods and low water use efficiency in dryland of Tongxin,Ningxia, three different irrigation quotas(1800,2400,3000 m3/hm2)and three different planting methods(flat, ditch, ridge planting)were set up.It was used to study the effects of growth and development of field pepper, analyze the vertical distribution of soil moisture during the whole growth period of pepper and the water consumption law of pepper during the whole growth period, and determine the suitable irrigation quota and planting method of drip irrigation under plastic film of the area.It provides a scientific basis for water-saving cultivation of field vegetables in dryland of Ningxia. The main results are as follows:(1)The results of different irrigation quotas and planting methods on the growth and development of field pepper showed that:under the same planting pattern:plant height, stem diameter, leaf area, dry matter accumulation and yield of W2 and W3 treatments were significantly greater than W1 treatment.Under the same irrigation quota conditions, the leaf area and dry matter accumulation of P2 and P3 treatments were greater than that of P1 treatment. The W1P2 treatment had the highest water use efficiency(7.93 kg/m3)in all treatments, but the yield was lower, while the W2P3 treatment had no significant difference in water use efficiency compared with W1P2 treatment, and the yield was the highest(28671.22 kg/hm2)and was significantly different from other treatments.(2)The results of different irrigation quotas and planting methods on the vertical distribution of soil moisture in pepper showed that:the soil moisture content of different treatments was:W3>W2>W1;P2>P3>P1;the soil moisture content of different soil layers showed The soil moisture content of 0-30 cm soil layer changed mostly, the soil moisture content of 30-40 cm soil layer changed secondly, and the soil moisture content of 40-60 cm soil layer changed little.(3)The results of different irrigation quotas and planting methods on the water consumption law of pepper during the whole growth period showed that:at first, the water consumption changes during the whole growth period of pepper were as follows:the water consumption in the seedling stage was the least, and flowering and fruit bearing stage was large, the initial fruiting stage was moderate, and the fruiting boom stage was the highest. The water consumption under different planting methods showed P2>P3>P1;the water consumption under different irrigation quotas increased with the increase of irrigation quota, and the water consumption increased linearly with the irrigation amount. As well as,the daily water consumption intensity of all stages of pepper whole growth period from the big to the small is like:the fruiting boom stage>the flowering and fruit bearing stage>the initial fruiting stage>the Final fruiting stage>the seedling stage, the peak period of the whole growth stage of pepper, the flowering fruit setting period, the result The water consumption modulus at the initial stage and the later stage was higher than 16.85%,and the water consumption modulus of each treatment in the seedling stage was lower than 7.37%.The field experiment analysis shows that the irrigation method with irrigation quota of 2400 m3/hm2+ridge is the best production method for dry field pepper in Tongxin. This research results can provide scientific basis for high-efficiency water-saving planting of field vegetables in Ningxia.
