A Research On The Theory And Practice Of Tulip Show

Tulip,a herbaceous plant of Tulipa in the lily family,is a well-known flowering bulb.It is of high value of appreciation and is regarded as the symbol of victory,grace and beauty.With the rapid development of the society,all kinds of flower shows emerge at home and abroad.Because of its unique grace and color,tulips become an indispensible material of these shows.In order to deepen the application of tulips in flower shows and promote the spread of tulip culture,this paper conducted a series of researches on the theory and practice of tulip shows.Selecting the design,arrangement and application of tulip show as major research objects,this paper did some systematic researches on it by way of literature review,data collecting,case study,investigation,etc.The main results are as follows:First,although there was no specific definition of flower show in ancient China,all sorts of activities concerning flowers appeared very early.Through literature review,this paper made a series of studies on tulips with regard to its history and orgin,breeding,ecological behavior and culture to provide a solid theoretical basis for further research.Second,this paper carried out some field research on Keukenhof Park of Holland,Beijing Zhongshan Park,Wuhan Botanical Garden etc.to become acquaint with the development and status quo of modern tulip shows.Based on the analysis of their site selection,landform treatment,plant arrangement and culture combination,this paper explores some particular designs of tulip shows and attempts to offer valid support for future programs.Third,the design of tulip show should follow the principles of ecology,art and culture.The trend of its development is to combine sufficiently and naturally elements of culture with theme flower shows to improve the connotation.Fourth,to better apply the theory of this research to practice,the author designed and operated the tulip shows in Taizhou Flower Garden,Huqiu Garden,Bengbu Flower Garden and other projects.Through the combination with other landscapes,these shows highlighted the grace and elegance of tulips for the visitors and constitute a platform for the promotion and development of tulip culture.
