Treatment Effect Of Compound Motherwort Perfusate On Sow Endometritis

Endometritis of sow was a disease which could cause reproductive disturbance,its main clinical manifestation included abnormal estrus,repeated with infertility,miscarriage,mogitocia,farrowing interval extension and so on.It was said that its incidence was around 20%,some farms as high as 50%,which causing the number of newborn piglets declined,and a certain loss in farm..The conventional treatments of antibiotics and chemical synthetic drug on endometritis was restricted due to drug resistance and residues.Traditional Chinese medicine had many advantages including natural,no residue,little toxic and adverse effects on animals.It was gradually become the emerging prevention drugs instead of traditional therapies.This study investigated the clinical effect of Compound motherwort perfusion fluid consisted of Motherwort,Safflower and Epimedium on endometritis of sow to provide experimental basis for clinical prevention and treatment of sow endometritis.Method:(1)36 sows with endometritis were randomly divided into three groups which was treated by uterine perfusion administration with Compound motherwort perfusion fluid,Gong Yan Jing and saline,respectively.Lochial discharge,characteristics of discharge,the cure rate and the total efficiency were recorded.The ear-vein blood was collected used for routine blood test and testing the contests of NO,SOD,GSH-PX in serum.(2)30 sows suffering from recessive endometritis clinical manifest tations were infertility with breeding more than 2 times,long-term non-estrus and abnormal estrus,which was treated by uterine perfusion administration with Compound motherwort perfusion fluid,Gong Yan Jing and saline,respectively.Time of estrus and conception rate of sow was recorded.The ear-vein blood was collected to detect the levels of FSH,estradiol and progesterone in serum.(3)Chose 30 postpartum afterbirth net sows,which was treated by uterine perfusion with compound motherwort perfusate,Gong Yan Jing and saline,incidence of Sow Endometritis and conception rate were recorded to explore drug prevention effect.Results(1)showed that the sow lochia discharge time declined,uterine secretions decreased,after treatment with Compound motherwort perfusion fluid.The total effective rate and cure rate were 92.8%,85.7% respectively,the difference was not significant compared with Gong Yan Jing group(P>0.05),,both group were higher than the control group(P<0.05).The difference of second-conception rate between Compound motherwort perfusate group and GongYanJing group was no significant(P>0.05).The results of blood routine examination indicated there were no significant among compound motherwort group,GongYanJing group and control group.The result indicated that compound motherwort perfusate had no obvious effect on routine blood indicators of sows suffering from endometritis.The results serum biochemical indicated there were no significant among compound motherwort group,GongYanJing group and control group in the level of NO and GSH-PX(P > 0.05)while compound motherwort perfusate group could significant improve the level of SOD(P<0.05).(2)The results of recessive endometritis treatment showed that compound motherwort perfusate could improve estrus of diseased sows,and improve normal estrus rate of sows having abnormal estrus.The difference of estrus rate and conception rate among.compound motherwort perfusate group,GongYanJing group and the blank control group was not significant(P>0.05).The level of FSH and estradiol in compound motherwort perfusate group were significantly higher than that in GongYanJing group and the blank control group(P<0.05);its level of progesterone was significantly lower than that in GongYanJing group(P<0.05),but had no significant difference with the blank control group(P>0.05).(3)The results of post-natal prevention trial showed that in terms of sow lactation incidence,compound motherwort perfusate group decreased significantly than the blank control group;in terms of conception rates,compound motherwort perfusate group had no significant difference with GongYanJing group.Above all,Compound Motherwort Perfusate could increase uterine contractility,promotes uterine Lochia discharge,and had significant effect on curing endometritis;as well as reduce infertility rates of sows of recessive endometritis;and could prevent the sow postpartum endometritis,and had better prevention effect on sow endometritis.
