At present,there is no uniform standard for the selection and setting of safety faciliti es for mountain roads in China.The diversification of safety facilities in mountain roads will increase the difficulty of management,and in some cases,it will not be able to provide the desired safety protection.This paper bases on the project “A guide to the setting of safety facilities in mountain roads” from Sichuan provincial transportation department.And this paper bases on the safety of the accident-prone points determines the safety of the whole road,safety facilities as road infrastructure can reduce the risk of road effectively.First of all,the paper examines the status of safety facilities in Sichuan province.According to the existing norms,the safety inspection table of safety facilities was established,and the typical mountain roads in Sichuan province was selected to analyze the situation of safety facilities in mountainous roads.At the same time,through the analysis of the driver's demand for safety facilities and the comparison the different accident characteristics in mountain roads and other terrain roads.The necessity of the study on the safety facilities of mountain roads is proved.Secondly,the paper considers that the safety of the accident-prone points determines the safety of the whole road,and the key road section should be judged before the safety facilities are set up.Aiming at the commonly used accident black point discriminant method considering the circumstances of less accident factors,put forward using accident frequency,equivalent accident total number,vehicle kilometres accident rate as index of gray theory method for identification of accident-prone points.And through the analysis of these four methods,it is found that the method proposed in this paper is more accurate and more realistic in the identification of accident-prone points.Thirdly,the paper puts forward the concept of risk degree in the study of the definition of hazardous grade for the identified accident-prone points.The 14 risk factors in the four aspects of road alignment,road condition,transportation facilities and environment are defined respectively.According to the algorithm,the hazard level is summarized,the hazard level of the identified accident-prone points is calculated,and the priority of the multi-point management of the accident is determined.Finally,the paper analyzes the road characteristics and accident characteristics of the high risk grade accident-prone point.And the safety facilities in the high risk grade accident-prone point are analyzed from five aspects: speed control,visual range improvement,cross-border reminder,sign marking and road side protection.This paper studies the safety facilities of the system at the corner,village and intersections.
