The Study On Edible Landscaping Design Of City Courtyard In Hunan

With the development of China's economic society and the accelerating of urbanization process,citizens are increasingly focusing on their own living environment.Courtyard,as a part of citizens' living area,are drawing more attention.Traditional courtyard space are usually used for the planting and viewing of plant.However,with the the improvement of urban living standards,edible landscaping,which provides more sensation of participation and acquisition,has emerged in city courtyard as a new landscaping genre based on the emphasis on environment and human health.There is a lack in the domestic study on edible landscaping design of courtyard,of which this paper would fulfill the blank.This study applies the methods of literature review,investigative research,inductive analysis,and empirical study,focusing on the edible landscaping design of city courtyard.Major findings are as follows.1.Based on the investigation of city courtyard in Hunan,this study discovers the emerging of edible landscaping in courtyards.Though citizens' interest of participating in plantation has been seen,due to the lack of systematic research and referential research results,the previous edible landscaping city courtyard is faced with problems such as unsatisfying building effects,lack of artistry in disposition,failed consideration of plant coordination,and affected overall greening by poor management skills.In the perspective of ecological habit,edible plant could be classified as ornamental fruit trees,ornamental vegetables,edible flowers,edible vines,edible aquatic plant and spices plant.According to this classification,this paper includes almost a hundred plant categories suitable for the edible landscaping design of city courtyard in Hunan,proposing a plantation method of proper disposition of edible plant and ornamental plant.2.Following the principle of edibility,interactivity,characteristic,ecology and artistry,based on the premise of the subjective user requirements and objective plant design,according to the landscape pattern and plantation method of edible plant,this paper proposes an edible landscaping design model of city courtyard including flower-fence type,flower-pergola type,flower-border type,flower-shrub type,flower-belt type,flower-stand type,and flower-pot type.3.This paper also conduct a renovation on the edible landscaping design of the Tuscan community courtyard in Changsha: mastering the design theme and function division,proposing renovation solutions,designing under the edible landscaping design model of city courtyard,and elaborating the multiple inner value of edible landscaping via courtyard design.The edible landscaping design of City Courtyard should stand on the court space and plant resource,focus on the theme of healthy lifestyle,satisfy the diverse psychological needs of users,improve users' living quality.Further study could sum up the problems worthy of attention in the design,elaborate the sustainability of edible landscaping development,realize disciplinary value via this model and infiltrate edible landscaping into citizen's daily life,improving the public's aesthetic judgment and the capacity of appreciating humanitarian spirit.
