Damage assessment can not only evaluate the combat efficiency, guide the power design and make the best combat plan for the warhead, but also has great significance to the target protection. Therefore, this paper studied on the visual simulation technology of the damage assessment on the "Patriot" AN/MPQ-53 multifunction phased array radar.(1)The three-dimensional model of target radar was established by analyzing its characteristics and vulnerability. The damage criteria, tree structure, weights and the damage probability calculation method were obtained from two aspects of antenna array and radar shelter.(2)The warhead blast fragment in the air and blast wave power distribution were obtained by using the finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA to make a numerical simulation research to the blast power of typical blast-fragment warhead.(3)The two and three dimensional models were established automatically and rapidly by using the parametric template method.Meanwhile,by analyzing the conclusion of mathematical model about the warhead fragments and shock wave power field andusing shoot trace method to describe the warhead fragments and radar target process, the three-dimensional visualization which was based on data-driven fragments and shock wave power field, was ultimately achieved.(4)The damage assessment calculation of typical blast-fragment warhead against radar target was carried out by regarding the "Patriot" AN/MPQ-53 multifunction phased array radar as the study object, which intuitively showed the missile's encounter process in different encounter conditions and the damage degree of target, calculated the damage probability of key components and target and obtained the relationship between damage probability, aimed position, speed of warhead and blast location.
