Abstract/Summary:
It is high speed and accurate that executing fatigue analysis based on experimental road load data for a light truck frame by using the finite element method(FEM)to empolder the structure of frame by anticipating the fatigue risk area of the light truck frame.In order to improve the accuracy of FEM analysis,each rivet joint is simulated by the combination of beam elements.It is effectively to solve the problem of the stiffness sudden change of the rivet hole.The frame structure strength analysis of the unit load is carried out by the inertia release method,and the results of the stress distribution of the unit load can be obtained without any constraint.After the measurement and VI work,we get the useful road load data which will be used for frame structure fatigue analysis with the results of the stress distribution of the unit load.The fatigue analysis results show that several regions of the side members and the sixth cross member take the risk of fatigue failure because of their high damage value.Hence structural optimization is employed for the critical regions to reduce the risk of fatigue failure.
