The popularity of CAD has greatly improved the efficiency of designers and engineers over the past 20 years.However,with the rapid development of computer technology and the increase in user demand,CAD and other two-dimensional design software cannot be able to meet more needs of engineering design and management.BIM has the advantages of visualization,coordination,simulation,optimization,and plotting.It can greatly improve design efficiency and management efficiency and has attracted widespread attentions in recent years.Meanwhile,the catenary which is one of the core components of the electrified railway,has the characteristics of numerous projects and large workload in its design.Thus,how to use BIM technology for the catenary design becomes an important research topic.Focusing on the urgent issues in the current BIM design of the catenary,this paper analyzes the implementation goals,core functions,structural framework,and key technologies of the catenary-BIM design system in detail.After researching and comparing among the current mainstream BIM software platforms,combined with professional characteristics,Inventor is selected as the software platform for the catenary-BIM.This paper makes full use of existing plane statutory CAD design materials as the basic data source,establishes a basic catenary component model based on data-driven and forms a catenary parameterized component library system.Based on the automatic analysis of the basic CAD design drawings,a two-dimensional and three-dimensional catenary automatic deployment system is constructed,and the automatic layout of the three-dimensional BIM scene of the catenary is finally realized.Fully consider the functional requirements and development requirements of the system,the modular and structured design and development of the catenary-BIM design system is completed.User interaction UI interface and project management system provide the basic operation support for the catenary three-dimensional design system.The catenary graphic design analysis system provides the basis for the automatic generation of subsequent catenary three-dimensional scenes.The three-dimensional layout system of the catenary-BIM design realizes the creation,modification,attribute addition,model automatic deployment,manual deployment and other functions of the catenary parts and assemblies,greatly reducing the workload of completely manual deployment,improving the layout accuracy,and enhancing the design data relevance.Collision detection and material table function modules make it possible to design checksums and outputs,to further reduce or avoid the design changes caused by collisions,and meanwhile,to more accurately and detailedly output catenary material tables.The catenary-BIM design system designed and developed in this paper can greatly lighten the learning cost for engineering designers in the process of two-dimensional and threedimensional design transition and reduce the impact on design work.Design results do not need to be converted from three-dimensional to plane CAD drawings,and do not affect the submission of design data.The system design fully considers the isolation of the twodimensional and three-dimensional design.In the future,the designers can gradually convert to the three-dimensional platform and complete the whole design work after familiar with the three-dimensional design.The system fully premeditates future expansion.It provides new ideas and new ways for the three-dimensional design of the catenary and has a certain practical significance in engineering.
