Beamforming and spatial filtering technology are two important research directions in the area of array signal processing. In recent years, spatial filtering technology is widely used in sonar, radar and other array signal processing. In this paper, spatial filtering and near-field focusing beamforming method are used to study the underwater radiation noise source localization and identification. On the background of mechanical noise localization of underwater large vehicle in the shallow water, this paper propose a new method called near-field localization of underwater noise source based on spatial matrix filter with vector sensor array processing. When the traditional noise source localization algorithm is used to locate the mechanical noise source of the underwater vehicle, the strong noise source such as propeller will have a great influence on the location of the weak mechanical noise source. In addition, due to the impact of multi-way environment, the interface reflection will reduce the noise source localization performance,to solve these problems, the spatial filtering technique is used to effectively suppress the strong interference and the coherent interference caused by the interface reflection, and realize the accurate localization of the other mechanical noise sources.Based on the theory of near-field array, the principle of underwater noise source localization based on sound pressure and vector array is introduced. The influence of signal-to-noise ratio and the shape of array on the performance of noise source localization is discussed. The analysis shows that the localization algorithm based on vector array has higher spatial resolution, better robustness and stronger volcanic compression ability. On this basis, the spatial matrix filter and the near-field ac-MVDR focused beamforming algorithm are combined to ensure that the signal in the passband can pass without distortion and the interference in the stopband can be suppressed,so that to improve the localization accuracy of the mechanical noise source. Finally, the experiment of the noise source localization is carried out,and the experimental results prove that the near-field localization of underwater noise source based on spatial matrix filter with vector sensor array processing algorithm is effective and feasible.
