As an important carrier of public activities happened in the cities,street space is the most obvious reflection of urban development needs.With the rapid development of urban construction,motor vehicle traffic that has a great impetus to the economy and society became the master of street space.Street space tended to be wider and wider without considering pedestrian perception experience of people.However,with the change of urban construction ideas worldwide and the background of “new normal” in China,most people have met their economic needs and require more attention on the individual experience and life quality.The lack of humanization in street space gradually attracts wild attention.How to get better pedestrian perception experience in the street becomes a focus.But the existing studies on the pedestrian perception experience is non-systematic,especially the definition and influence factors of it.Besides,most studies only focus on some plain influence factors without the practical application and optimization of the conclusion.This paper firstly expounds relevant concepts of pedestrian perception experience,and then systematically analyzes the existing achievements of street space and pedestrian perception experience at home and aboard,especially focuses on the research of Reid Ewing’s team.Next,this paper provides the fundamental research on the constituent elements,perception features and needs of pedestrian,optimization principles of street space.On the basis of above work,this paper has chosen Binjiang Road as the research object in consideration of massive pedestrian activities.Moreover,this paper has carried on the thorough field investigation of Binjiang Road.Then,this paper provides overall evaluation of Binjiang Road from the angles of the pedestrian needs.Next,with the combination of the survey data and the findings of Reid Ewing’ team,this paper evaluates the street space from the aspects of imagery,enclosure,scale of people,transparency and complexity.And this paper summarizes the problems of pedestrian perception experience with the foundation of shortcomings in all aspects.In the end,in the light of the problems and the causations,this paper try to proposed some optimization strategies to promote the pedestrian perception experience of urban street space. |
