Recently with the rapid development of economy,the amount of cars has increased sharply.Pedestrian protection has gradually become the hot issue of the study on road safety.In the traffic accident between pedestrian and vehicles,the lower leg of pedestrian is easily injured.Therefore,the research on the structure of automobile front that is based on the protection for the pedestrian's leg has significant meaningAfter looking into the status and ways about the studies on the automobile collision safety both at home and abroad and according to some model on the market as well as the relevant regulations of the EEVC pedestrian protection regulations,this paper established the finite element model and used the computer simulation to do the research on the safety in the collision between pedestrian and automobileFirstly,this paper analyzed the lower leg's Biomechical characteristics and tolerance limit,and then it elaborated the evaluation criterion and ways about the leg's injury.According to the knowledge for the physical structure of the leg,it utilized the ProE to establish to model of pedestrian's leg.Besides,on the basis of the EEVC pedestrian protection regulation,the static bending test,static shear test and dynamic impact test on the leg simulation model were conducted,thus to verify the validity of the simulation model.Secondly,effective simplified model to be used in the simulation research according to the basic structure of automobile front was estabilshed.And the infinite analysis softwareHyperMesh and LS-DANY and so on were applied to conduct the simulation study on the collision between pedestrian and automobile,thus to conclude the parameter of every structure of automobile's influence on the pedestrian's leg injury.Finally,this paper optimized and improved the significant components according to all parameters got from the simulation in order to make up the disadvantage existed in the automobile front structure in pedestrian's leg protection.The optimized automobile front structure eases the injury on the pedestrian's leg to some great degree.And the performance of the pedestrian's leg protection is also got improved and the optimal effect is remarkable,which also demonstrates that the automobile front structure's optimization based on the pedestrian's leg protection is effective and reasonable.
