Study On The Effects Of Background Music On Human Comfort And Workefficiency Under Warm Discomfort Condition

With the change of social nature,the main task in the modern office mainly focus on interior mental work,the building indoor environment has an important influence on human comfort and work efficiency.Therefore,to create a healthy,comfortable and efficient office environment is an important goal at the present stage.In response to the national energy conservation policy,when the indoor air conditioning temperature deviates slightly from the comfort state,the traditional way of regulating the air conditioning temperature should be changed,and the energy saving measures to improve the human comfort degree should be studied.The research in our lab has shown that sound has an influence on human thermal sensation and thermal comfort,especially music,which can relieve the thermal discomfort on high temperature level.This paper is aimed at the summer indoor warm uncomfortable conditions—the room temperature is slightly higher than the comfort range,within the acceptable area of human body,to explore the influence of background music on human comfort and work efficiency,and carries on the analysis from the perspective of physiology and psychology.The experiment was carried out in a simulated office environment,the subjective questionnaire and objective measurement were mainly adopted to obtain subjective evaluation and physiological parameters of the subjects;the working efficiency was evaluated by the accuracy and the reaction time of the working memory test.The main research contents and achievements are as follows:(1)To explore the influence of different types,rhythms and sound pressure levels of background music on human body heat and sound comfort.The results show that the sound pressure level and type of the background music have significant influence on the human comfort,with the sound pressure level increases,the comfort reduce,and under the background of rock music,the human body's heat and sound discomfort increase.Low level classical music can effectively improve the warm discomfort,but increase the sound discomfort at the same time.Therefore,playing the background music within the acceptable range of human sound comfort can effectively relieve the warm discomfort in a slightly higher temperature environment.(2)To explore the influence of background music on human annoyance sensation and work emotion,the results show that the background music sound pressure level has significant influence on human annoyance sensation,and the rhythm has significant influence on work emotion.Rock music and high intensity background music can increase the degree of annoyance sensation,and under fast paced background music,people work in low spirits and become less attentive.Compared with men,women have a poor tolerance to rock music.(3)To explore the trend of human ear temperature,heart rate and blood pressure changes with the background music,the results found that the change of physiological parameters is consistent with the change of comfort.It shows that the changes of environmental parameters not only directly affects the psychological and emotional changes,but also affects the comfort level by affecting the physiological parameters.(4)To explore the influence of background music factors on the accuracy and reaction time of working memory,the results show that the sound pressure level and music rhythm have a significant impact on the accuracy and reaction time,and it is consistent with the change of work emotion.Through the comprehensive scoring method,it can be determined that the most efficient background music environment is the classical music of medium rhythm in 60 dB.
