The Laboratory Calibration System Of ADCP

ADCP Calibration System is a kind of device which used simulated underwater acoustic signal on land to calibrate the performance of velocity and depth measurement of ADCP.This paper focuses on the design of a system that can calibrate ADCP in laboratory.The system can simulate four beams acoustic echo signals that carry information such as vertical velocity distribution,the direction of flow velocity and depth of water.Through the transducer calibration system can be directly connected with the ADCP under the anhydrous environment to achieve calibration.The system can partially replace the echo signal in the actual water environment,verify the basic function of ADCP,simplify the calibration process and improve the efficiency of ADCP research.This paper introduces the development process of ADCP and ADCP's calibration technology at home and abroad,research the basic principle of Doppler flow measurement.We propose a set of ADCP docking land-borne calibration device based on arbitrary wave generator,the calibration is built by computer,signal source and power amplifier module.We research the model of water echo deeply,and verify the model of water echo by simulation.Based on the simulation,we take the programmable signal source as the hardware core,combined with instrument development platform and graphical user interface of software we design a fully-featured,easy handling and extensible calibration system.Through the designed interface system can set various parameters such as signal-to-noise ratio,scatter number and velocity distribution so that system can generator various echo signals such as narrow-band non-coherent signal,narrow-band coherence signal and broadband coherence signal to calibrate the ADCP.Finally,we use the completed calibration system to calibrate the performance of the ADCP in the laboratory anhydrous environment.The calibration experiment includes velocity,depth and direction of the flow velocity.We analysis the result of calibration experiment deeply,the result validates the feasibility of the system.
