The Acoustic Doppler Velocity Profiler(ADCP)is a commonly used instrument for velocity and flow measurement.It estimates the velocity of flow profile by using echoes generated by scattering superimposition of scatterers such as phytoplankton and impurities in water.In this paper,based on the existing research,the factors affecting the measurement performance of ADCP are analyzed,and some optimization methods are proposed.An experimental platform for ADCP is designed,which covers a small area and can meet the test requirements of ADCP at a certain flow rate in the laboratory.Broadband and narrowband coherence experiments are carried out using this platform.In this paper,the author firstly expounds the development history of ADCP and the current research situation at home and abroad,introduces the principle of three doppler flow measurement techniques,studies the principle and simulation method of echo modeling,and uses MATLAB based on simulated echo.The simulation experiment analyzes several factors affecting the measurement accuracy of the wideband method in detail,and optimizes the algorithm to prove that the improved algorithm can effectively improve the measurement accuracy.In this paper,ADCP experimental system and flow rate controllable circulating water tunnel are built by using existing instruments and equipment,and the broadband and narrowband coherent current measurement experiments are carried out.A large number of effective echo data are obtained with high-precision data acquisition devices.The characteristics of the transmitting signal and echo signal of the platform are analyzed.Several factors affecting the accuracy of current measurement in broadband coding current measurement are verified,and the effect of velocity ambiguity and signal intensity on narrow-band coherent flow measurement is observed.The results of the acoustic velocity estimation are compared with those of the mechanical velocimeter.The correctness of the estimation results is verified.Finally,the experimental results of broadband method and narrow-band coherence method are analyzed and compared.The advantages and disadvantages of the two methods are expounded based on the experimental data,and the errors in the experiment are analyzed and corrected.
