Automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast(ADS-B)technology is a new kind of air traffic control(ATC)technology.ATC system using ADS-B equipment(airborne equipment and ground equipment)can provide ground and air with accurate and real-time conflict information.ADS-B is different from traditional primary surveillance radar(PSR)and secondary surveillance radar(SSR).ADS-B monitoring is based on high precision satellite navigation.It can effectively improve the operation situation awareness of the controllers and pilots,raise the utilization ratio of airspace and improve air traffic control ability and service quality.And it has many advantages such as high monitoring precision,low cost,safe and efficient operation,etc.The existing ADS-B data link is not unified and incompatible.Globalization and integration of ADS-B technology would be an important development trend in the future.Using common data link is a way to promote the integration of ADS-B technology.And it is a good transition form to design an ADS-B system which is compatible with two or more than two kinds of data links.Based on this thought this research subject gives a dual mode ADS-B receiver design scheme compatible with 1090 ES mode and UAT mode.Firstly,this article elaborates the background and significance of the research.This paper introduces the ADS-B technology development status at home and abroad.And explore the composition and working principle of ADS-B system in depth.On the basis we give the system scheme of dual mode ADS-B receiver.In this project,I mainly complete the design of1090 ES mode baseband signal processing module in FPGA and the design of PC message processing software.Then study 1090 ES mode data link in detail,and give the design scheme of signal processing module in 1090 ES mode ADS-B receiver.The signal processing module of dual mode ADS-B receiver is based on FPGA.And the signal processing module includes intermediate frequency signal processing and the baseband signal processing.Intermediate frequency signal processing includes digital automatic gain control(AGC),digital down converter(DDC),2ASK digital demodulation and digital filtering,etc.Baseband signal processing includes preamble detecting and decoding,error detection and correction,etc.Secondly,this paper introduces the principle of 1090 ES mode baseband signal processing algorithms in detail.And test preamble detecting,decoding,error detection andcorrection algorithms separately using Matlab simulation.The simulation results verify ADS-B baseband signal processing algorithms are feasible.And we do some optimization and improvement according to simulation results.Then,I design preamble detecting module,decoding module,error detection and correction module and other function modules with using Verilog HDL language.And test the design using Modelsim software.The simulation results verify the implementation of ADS-B baseband signal processing algorithms by FPGA is feasible.Finally,I design PC message processing software and download the whole project which includes intermediate frequency signal processing module,baseband signal processing module and other control modules into decoding board.Then we construct the system test platform and test the system.The test results verify the decoding system is feasible and the system function is realized.The design of ADS-B decoding system has certain engineering practice significance.
