Civil aviation is made up of commercial aircraft and general aviation. Passenger transport,mentioned daily is a kind of commercial aviation,a kind of important operation mode.General aviation contains other aviation services in addition to the commercial aviation. The international civil aviation organization promotes the application and development of the automatic dependent surveillance (ADS-B). The system, compatible with dual mode ADS-B receiver, can reduce the number of ground stations and provide reconfiguration ability and cost economy;. Due to its higher level of integration, this reduces the weight of the plane. The civil aviation surveillance system in the future should satisfy the need for commercial aircraft and general aviation at the same time. It's important for air traffic control system to receive 1090ES and UAT dual mode data link. The dual mode ADS-B transmitter of low power output can not only simulate two modes of ADS-B message, but although facilitate lab verification and principle test. The RF-front of receiver is an important part of the receiving system,directly affects the system's receiving sensitivity, dynamic range, as well as to the signal bit error rate and other technical indicators. Eventually, it reduces the reliability of the system directly.Dual mode ADS-B transmitter system uses up-conversion way, mainly including dual mode modulation module, the module voltage-controlled oscillation and phase lock loop(PLL), the frequency conversion module, power amplifier module. Dual mode ADS-B receiver system uses digital receiver signal processing methods. It is used twice frequency conversion way, mainly including the low noise amplifier module, broadband power splitters module, the first frequency conversion module and the second frequency conversion,intermediate frequency signal processing module, an upper computer module. Using ADS simulation software, the RF front-end system, power splitters and low noise amplifier modules are simulated. Then this paper verified these modules through the way of multi-module converter and making the sheet of the PCB. At last, the field test verifies the effectiveness of the receiver.Through hardware parameters test of each module and modules cascade method , this article verifies the impedance matching of the simulation results of various modules. Finally the whole system is established. By means of the field test, the output signal frequency of PLL module is 1034 MHz and the 10 KHz phase noise is -90 dB/Hz or less. The output power of transmitter 5 W and noise figure is less than 2.5 dB. The RF front of receiver reachs the sensitivity of -73dBm and 55 dBc dynamic range. The receiver has better versatility and higher integration. It turns out to be effective and reliable.
