Research On The Relationship Among Construction Workers' Social Capital,Safety Capability And Safety Behavior

The construction industry,as one of major industries that occur safety accidents,its security situation is still not optimistic.Unsafe behavior as a direct impact on the occurrence of safety accidents,makes scholars to explore unremittingly,and have achieved fruitful results.Research on how to improve workers' safety behavior or reduce unsafe behavior mainly focuses on safety education training,the organization's safety climate and safety culture,etc,there is little discussion about the role of social capital.Social capital theory holds that the social capital derived from the social network relationship in which people live has created the social situation of individual behavior,and can have an effect on the individual's behavior.Therefore,this article based on the perspective of social capital is to explore how to improve the level of safety behavior of workers,in order to provide a theoretical basis for research on improving the safety of workers.Based on the literature analysis,this article puts forward the research hypothesis of constructing the conceptual model,carries on the questionnaire survey to the workers of the construction enterprise,uses the statistical software SPSS 19.0 to carry on the reliability and validity test to the recovery data,uses the structural equation model software AMOS 17.0 to build the SEM model of construction workers' social capital,safety capability and safety behavior,and makes empirical analysis to the model.Result indicates:(1)The social capital structural dimension of workers has a significant direct impact on safety compliance and safety participation,and the impact on safety capability has reached a significant level.At the same time,the structural dimension also has an indirect effect on the two dimensions of safety behavior through the partial intermediary role of safety capability.(2)The social capital relations dimension of workers only has a direct significant effect on safety compliance and safety participation.(3)The social capital cognitive dimension of workers has a significant impact on safety capacity,while it also has an indirect effect on safety compliance and safety participation through the full mediating role of safety capability.(4)The impact of safety capability on safety compliance and safety participation is more balanced.Therefore,the management staff in the daily management process shall strengthen the social capital accumulation and safety training,so as to improve the level of workers' safety behavior,thereby reducing the occurrence of safety accidents.
