| Short-distance transport as a very important part of the logistics transportation,it need a large number of cargo vehicles to do this work.Unlike long-distance freight transport,the short-distance transport have more destinations and dispersed everywhere.And the amount of cargo delivered to individual destination is less than the long-distance freight transport.Besides highway,there will be a large number of crowded urban roads and narrow National and Provincial roads where large trailers hard to get through.Therefore,the small-sized truck and medium-sized truck which are smaller and easier to drive will be the perfect transport solution to solve this problem.This paper is relies on the program carried by the cooperation of Hunan University and Aisn Automotive Technology Development Co.,Ltd,serving for SINOTRUK Co.LTD.Thanks to the first cooperation in 2011,SINOTRUK Co.LTD commissioned us to develop the new design of the HOWO medium-sized truck.They need to develop a new design of HOWO medium-sized truck except the side doors,keep HOWO design features and define a new brand identity to make HOWO brand more recognizable.They want developing a product position to high-end market without copy any existing models.This paper started with analyzing the design characteristics of small-sized trucks and summarizing the trend of future truck design through marketing research,including proportion,surface,graphic and details.And then put forward a appropriate design theme based on the marketing research and the needs of SINOTRUK Co.LTD.Later Reflected the design on the renderings and three-dimensional modeling.As a main exterior designer,I responsible for the ideation sketches and renderings,advising 3-D modeling and the adjustment of clay model,communicate with Aisn's engineers until the end of the project.This paper applies Gestalt psychology theory to the front face design of trucks,which may provide some references to establish design DNA and enhance the brand identity. |
