Benifiting from the low noise,high dynamic range,high sensitivity,CCD camera has been widely used towards the intelligent applications,especially in astronomical imaging,micro-imaging and other high image quality camera systems.In this thesis,a complete cooled CCD astronomical camera system has been designed from the perspective of hardware and software.In the hardware design,we use the timing generator inside AD9928 to drive the CCD after studying its timing principle closely.At the same time,take advantage of the AD9928 highly integrated 16-bit analog front end(Analog Front End,AFE)to deal with the analog signal processing from CCD output.Compared to the traditional CCD camera system,our system has the advantage of simple peripheral circuit,high bit-depth,and good noise suppression.In addition,use the flexibility of FPGA to connect different interfaces to achieve the stable transmission of data channel and control signal channel.The thermal energy converter effectively solved the problem of dark current noise caused by long exposure.Meanwhile,PID control algorithm has been introduced to implement the automatic control of the temperature,which is efficient and practical.Besides,we implement some characteristic functions by adjusting the CCD timing,such as long exposure,trigger and Binning.In the mechanical structure design,use Peltier principle to solve the heat dissipation problem of cooling module,and make a good cooling effect.In the software design,according to the characteristics and requirements of astronomical cooled camera,a camera software has been designed with camera control,image acquisition,image preprocessing and image display.Besides,based on MVC software design model,the software has been designed from view layer,model layer and control layer,which can reduce the coupling and extend other functions and algorithms.In order to improve user's experience,we encapsulate user-friendly SDK development kit so that user can carry out secondary development.Finally,the cooled CCD camera based on AD9928 achieves hardware and software debugging success.The experimental results show that the CCD camera can effectively suppress the noise caused by long exposure in astronomical shooting and ensure the capture of low-light astronomical images.In addition,the overall camera system with high-speed and stable image transmission,meets the USB3.0 power requirements.
