Research On Slow Mode Transportation Space Design In Xuzhou Main Area

The slow mode transportation is based on the unblocked slow traffic and high quality environment,it shows the humanistic character of public space.With the development of green transportation and sustainable development theory,the slow mode transportation space plays an important role in healthy growing of city.This paper trys to describe the phenomenon that ignoring the “small scale space design ”and the relationship between city activities and city space.After researching the slow mode transportation space relative theories and cases(Copenhagen,Melbourne,New York City),this paper summarized the construction of urban slow space in the four aspects of comprehensive pedestrian space,cycling space,public life space and public transportation.Only through walking space,cycling space,the construction of public life space and integration of other transport modes,can make the slow mode transportation space become more dynamic,safer,healthier,sustainable.Combining with urban space and traffic situation,this article also takes Xuzhou as an example and submits the design strategies.According to these strategies,choosing four areas(Pengcheng Square central business district,Hubu Montain—Huilongwo continuous historical district,Yunlong Lake scenic spot and Old Yellow waterfront),this paper try to carry out a design conception plan of the slow mode transportation space in Xuzhou main area.At last,this paper proposes a new idea for the future of slow mode transportation system and urban development in Xuzhou.
