With the rapid development of economy,people's demand for energy is also increasing,but one-time non-renewable energy is limited,and these,such as coal and other non-renewable energy combustion of the destruction of the environment is irreversible,so people put their eyes to the development of clean and renewable energy.Wind energy is one of the natural inexhaustible renewable energy,because of its green environmental non pollution,has received widespread concern.However,the wind power is uncontrollable,the randomness and fluctuation of it will affect the supply quality and stability of the power grid,as the main reason of restricting the development of wind power industry,every year,due to unable to be incorporated into the power grid,a lot of wind power is wasted,especially in northwest.Northwest wind power are very rich,accounting for 40% of the total national wind energy,but because it at the end of the power grid and far from the load concentration area,it develop slow,as well as the incorporated into the power grid,the abandoned wind phenomenon is serious.For this reason,people think of the way energy storage will be stored,converted to a stable,high-quality power and high quality power grid.The pumped storage power station is a special type of hydropower station,which can make use of excess capacity by the way of pumping the water to upper reservoir in electric load low-hour and then put down the water to get power in electric load peak-hour.The biggest advantage of it is regulating peak value and filling valley,and large reserves,adjustable frequency and phase modulation.So the pumped storage power station becomes the optimal selection to cooperate with wind power.Combined operation of wind power and pumped storage power station,through wind power into hydropower,make the wind power integrated into the power grid can be control and increase the grid wind power,improve the power supply quality and the stability,reduce waste wind and other energy waste.Based on the above research background in this paper,based in the northwest region,the main research contents are as follows: Firstly,the problem of site selection of pumped storage power station is studied,through investigation and comparison of the site of pumped storage power station built or under constructionin China,From the water source,head,distance ratio,geographical environment and other aspects of comparison,summed up the basis site selection and influencing factors of pumped storage power station,then combined with the northwest region's unique natural environment in northwest,take Gansu pumped storage power station site selection as an example,expound and prove the basis and influencing factors of the site selection.Secondly,focusing on the wind power and pumped storage power station optimization problem,introduces the wind power generation principle,wind power and wind storage based complementary and genetic algorithm theory,on the basis of principle of wind power generation,wind power integration,wind storage complementary and genetic algorithm theory knowledge with different power grid electricity peak flat valley is divided into three periods,with application of Matlab genetic algorithm toolbox for optimization calculation.The results show that without wind power storage power station the benefit is 23.76772 million yuan per day,the configuration of the pumped storage power station after the benefits increased to24.091 million yuan,an increase of 323.28 thousand yuan.The disposition of pumped storage power station by wind power station can effectively increase the grid connected power,reduce the abandoned air,smooth wind power output,and improve the overall economic benefits.
