The quality of construction projects is directly related to the life and property security,investment benefit,and living comfort of buyers.Quality supervision is an important means to ensure the quality of construction projects.The core of supervision is to inspect and control each major construction procedure.However,too many inspection items specified by the relevant standards,lack of experience of some inspection personnel,and a second input of the original records into the documents by using the application software have led to the inefficiency of the inspection work and data falsification,which buries the seeds of risk for the quality of construction projects.The rapid development of BIM(Building Information Modeling)technologies make it possible to solve these problems in construction supervision.Therefore,it is necessary to study and develop a quality supervision system for construction projects based on BIM,which will improve the construction supervision process combining with other information technologies such as positioning technology.This study is committed to develop a quality supervision system for construction projects based on BIM and mobile positioning technology.The goal of research is to analyze the requirements to solve problems of traditional process of construction quality supervision,establish a conceptual framework and key methods of quality supervision system,design and implement the system,and apply it to a demonstration project.Firstly,based on the research of traditional supervision process of construction quality and the summary of existing problems,the functional requirements,technology requirements and user requirements were analyzed,and a conceptual framework was put forward.Secondly,the key methods to solve problems were analyzed,including the establishment of information model of system,algorithm to generate inspection points automatically in accordance with related standards based on IFC(Industry Foundation Classes)and supervision workflow of inspection lot based on BIM,integration of mobile positioning technology and the approach to establishing BIM platform based on BIMserver.org.Thirdly,based on requirements and key methods,the quality supervision system for construction projects based on BIM and technology was designed,which contained the design of functional module,interface and database.In addition,after programming,a prototype system was developed.Lastly,the prototype was demonstrated combining with the data of IFC and quality supervision of an actual project.It turns out that the prototype system can improve the work efficiency obviously,reduce the workload of inspectors,and decrease the negligence and omission effectively.The results of this study shows that the quality supervision system for construction projects based on BIM and positioning technology provided an effective means to solve the existing problems of the traditional supervision process,and proves that the BIM technology has wide application value in the construction process.
