A Study Of The Application Of Edible Landscape In Urban Public Facilities Green Space

At present,with the continuous development of society,and fast process of industrialization and urbanization,modern city is faced with boundless prospects and opportunities for development.On the one hand,urban landscape,accompanying the high-speed development of the city,has exposed some problems such as expensive construction and lacking of basic functions,which need more practical and comprehensive landscapes to complement the lack of functionality.On the other hand,the separation of city and agriculture has also triggered the urban residents’ deep desire for nature and agriculture.City residents have delivered a strong will to live in a pastoral environment,and many urban residents have begun to use their gardens and balconies to plant edible fruits and vegetables.That is to say,"growing vegetable" becomes a new fashionable trend.The idea of combining edible plants with traditional plants through the means of landscape and applying it in urban public spaces by ecological methods would not only realize a win-win situation of functionality and landscape,but also meet the demand of urban residents,creating a unique urban landscape with good residents’ participation.In recent years,the promotion of urban and rural integration and the rise of urban agriculture also has a good social and economic benefit,providing opportunity for the development of edible landscape.This essay has focused the application of edible landscape in urban public green space,and the main research content is divided into three parts:Firstly,through the study of the relative research and concepts of edible landscape,this essay has clearly presented its research objects and contents,emphasizing on the value of the application of edible landscape in urban public green space.Furthermore,this essay has reviewed and compared the history of edible landscape both at home and abroad,aiming to analyze the similarities and differences of the method both domestically and internationally.Then this essay has further classified edible landscape and discussed the relevant supporting technologies.Moreover,through the analysis and summary of excellent aboard cases and domestic cases,the second part of the essay has contrasted them in terms of design field,design material,cropping system,planting design,landscape elements,ecologicalmeasures,management and so on,which aims to evaluate both the advantages and disadvantages in their application of edible landscape.Finally,through basic research and case analysis,the third part has investigated into the potential problems during the design and management of edible landscape in urban public context.Through discussion of application strategies,the achievements of this essay are presented,which are to provide practical suggestions in aspects.In terms of design,put forward a policy framework to edible landscape,land use and the design and the choice of venue and design provides evidence for the selection of material;Summarized the edible landscape planting system and planting design in the application of method,and combined the landscape landscape elements and other facilities to build sets and practical for the integration of edible landscape.In management,from the late maintenance and the management pattern on the corresponding strategies and Suggestions are put forward.Through a detailed study of relative cases of application of edible landscape in urban public areas,this essay has identified potential problems in future design and management,which in turns inspire corresponding strategies and suggestions,aiming to provide useful suggestions for the future application of edible landscape in urban cities.
