Telescopic arm is the main working mechanism of straight arm type building maintenance unit(BMU).The design quality of telescopic arm influences the working performance and safety.The traditional design methods based on the analogy and experience always have a long design cycle and low design precision.In order to solve the problems existing in the traditional design,this thesis has carried on the research of the 3D parametric design system of the telescopic arm of the straight arm type BMU.The concrete work is as follows:According to the work requirements,different telescopic arm design schemes are given,and the formulas for calculating the length of telescopic arms are derived.Based on the length parameters of the arms,the cross-section parameters of the telescopic arm are designed and the lightweight design is carried out.According to the structure relationship and collocation rules of parts on the arms,calculate the structural size of components and assembly location.By analyzing the structural characteristics of the telescopic arm and parts,the 3D models library of the telescopic arm is planned,and a complete 3D parametric component library of telescopic arm is established.On basis of the design results of the telescopic arm and its components,the operation of the parts library and parametric drawing telescopic arm of the 3D models is achieved through dimension-driven and programming.Based on SolidWorks,a 3D parametric computer aided design system of the telescopic arm of straight arm type BMU is developed by using VB.NET development language.In this system,by using Access to manage the design parameters and drawing parameters of the telescopic arm,and using VB.NET to reference database to achieve data connection and access,the workload of data input is reduced,and the code is simplified.The 3D parametric design system developed in this thesis reduces the design cycle,increases the design precision and improves the market competitiveness of BMU products.
