In recent years,in the face of increasingly prominent environmental problems and the scarcity of conventional energy,the new energy development and utilization have been attached great importance to by the countries and their related enterprises all around the world.As a significant part of the new energy field,not only does the wind-solar hybrid road lighting system reduce the dependence of urban lighting on conventional electric energy,but also provides a new solution for rural lighting.Althouth the wind-solar hybrid street light has been put into use currently,there is still high failure rate,such as low brightness,without maintenance in time and low cost performance on account of the lack of in-depth research on the subject.This deficiency has an effect on the development of new energy indeed.In view of the high reliability requirement of the wind-solar hybrid lighting system and the cost of daily operation as well as the system deployment,this paper aims to design a low-cost street lights monitoring system which can reflect the health of street lights timely.It can realize the remote monitoring of wind-solar hybrid street lights by using wireless communication technology.ZigBee as one of short-distance wireless communication technologies above featuring low cost,low power and high reliability,can be used for data transmission between the street lights.On the side,GPRS can be applied to complete the communication between the street lights and the remote center.According to the principle and technical characteristics of the wind-solar hybrid lighting system,the paper analyzes the existing street lighting facilities and obtains that the health status of the battery influnces the whole system reliability.On basis of that,a detection scheme of battery health is designed.Then through the research into ZigBee and GPRS,it proves the feasibility by employing the technology as the means to build the wind-solar street lights monitoring system.In this paper,the overall architecture of the monitoring system is presented,including the network topology of the street light system,the networking process,the routing algorithm and the design of the communication protocol.The battery-related parameters detection is achieved in the hardware circuit and CC2530 is selected as the core chip to accomplish data acquisition among the lights and to connect with the GPRS module.In the software program design,the communication system between street lights is developed based on the Z-Stack protocol.In addition,the back-end server is designed to receive connection requests and to store data into the database.Finally,by means of the design of the visualization interface of the monitoring center and verifation of the system performance,it is proved that the wind-solar hybrid street lighting system can improve the reliability on power supply more than save the electric energy.
