A Research On Environment Design Strategy Of Red Beach Tourist Area In Liaohe River Estuary

Wetland has gained increasing public attention for its biodiversity and unique ecological environment.The rising and rapid development of wetland tourism shows the enthusiasm and yearning from the public.Nevertheless,the expansion desire of humans is infinite,yet the wetland ecological resources are li mited.The benefit-oriented exploitation of wetland tourism in recent years has damaged the ecological environment,which gradually aroused people’s awareness on protecting the wetland ecological environment.I myself once made an over one-month site visit and research on the Red Beach wetland in Liaohe river estuary.Through the investigation and survey of the Red Beach tourist area(RBTA)in Liaohe river estuary,on the basis of local data,this paper analyzed and summarized its unique geographic characteristics,natural and cultura l resources,and then classified them.Based on the state quo of the RBTA,this paper summarized the typical problems existing in this area.To solve these problems,except for browsing a large number of literature materials,the author has also made on-the-spot investigations and researches on the successfullydeveloped wetland tourist areas at home.Learning from theiroutstanding design methods by comparison and combining with the unique features of the RBTA,a nature-oriented design idea together with the pursuit of harmonious coexistence of tourism activities and natural environment was put forward so as to achieve the sustainable development on wetland tourism.The geographic environment on the RBTA is characterized by wateriness,no mountains and few trees,causing flat skyline,less vertical change and homogenization phenomenon in this tourist area.To get rid of this restriction condition,the design strategy of "Make landscape on itself" was proposed.Under the principle of respecting the nature,by utilizingthelocal wetland landscapes and constructingthespace in a skillful way,visitors was providedwith different perspectives and rich space gradations and can appreciate different views.Meanwhile,the space design should accord with the natural beauty,use local material and recycle the waste materials,pursuing a maximumlocaltourism spacewith a minimum cost.Furthermore,the wetland tourist areadesign also should meet the requirements of “visible,communicative and livable”.“Visible” means artificial equipments shall live harmonious with the ecological environment in original wetland landscape and establish a lookout space integrating into the nature.In the meantime,the employed design techniques must meet the principles of both inheriting from and blending in nature.“Communicative” refers to such an interesting place where tourists can freely visit and interact with as their own wishes.“Livable” indicates space acceptance from tourists.To strike a chord between the tourist and space,it needs a gradual change from object to emotion,and then,to reality.
