Study On The Mechanism And The Space Form Of Song Dynasty City Pavilion

The City Pavilion is the dominant symbol of Chinese historical landscape,is the dominant factor and key node of Confucian city spatial structure.An in-depth interpretation of City Pavilion symbolic representation and cultural connotation is an important way to understand the traditional Confucian city landscape construction methods,and enrich the current research Chinese city historical landscape theory.At present,there are a lot of researches on the landscape elements,the construction of urban landscape and the paradigm of spatial symbols.However,the comprehensive research which breakthrough the limitation in traditional physical space,systematically understand the dialectical relationship in the space representation,social culture,economic and political,social relations,and emphasize the historical value and connotation of city landscape,is a multi subject in understanding the new trend of the urban history landscape.Therefore,this paper attempts to the Song Dynasty City Pavilions as research object,explores the mechanism of action between the traditional City Pavilion space representation and cultural connotation,interprets the material landscape and its internal cultural mechanism,social construction and other aspects of the association,and then clarify the City Pavilion symbolic meaning and social attribute,so as to enrich the research data of urban historical landscape,expand the relevant theoretical support.According to 251 City Pavilions records from The Complete Works of Song and image-text records from Collection of Song & Yuan Local Gazetteers,this paper uses the method of image-text mutual proof,systematically understand the Song Dynasty City Pavilion.The research is divided into three parts:The first part,this paper first through the pavilion recorded data statistics from The Complete Works of Song,clear City Pavilion is an important indicator of the landscape symbol of city landscape construction in Song Dynasty,which contains multiple construction mechanism include landscapes aesthetics,etiquette education and the social value.It has the characteristics of identification,publicity and pluralism.The second part analyzes the formation mechanism and construction thought of City Pavilion.Around the ideological basis of Confucian "heaven-monarch-people" view of public and private,this part interprets the Song Dynasty City Pavilion's meaning and goal orientation under three different motivation mechanisms: the public of universe,state and people.Then according to the keywords frequency statistics of pavilion construction reason,the paper proposes three types of City Pavilion: Xingsheng type,Ritual System type and Music Education type.It also summarizes the cultural connotation of City Pavilion construction.The third part,combined with the local city map,landscape painting and other specific historical graphics,the paper analyzes the Song Dynasty City Pavilion typical spatial imagery from the location,organization related to the space layout,summes up the main expression of spatial form under different motivation mechanisms: 1)3 location types: the landscape form relying on natural scenery,the city axis conformed to etiquette rules and freedom scatter points for public convenience;2)the spatial combination relation with natural landscape,city walls,streets and garden;3)natural,regular and mixed concrete garden space layout and different types of architectural forms.In summary,based on the relationship between the Song Dynasty City Pavilion space representation and cultural connotation,that City Pavilion is not only the architecture,it covers a wider social significance and cultural value.It is an overall sense of China cultural symbols.Therefore,this paper analyzes the City Pavilion construction motivation and ideological foundation to interpret the internal formation mechanism,analyzes the specific space form,and recognits cultural connotation behind the spatial representation,tries to add foundational support of urban historical landscape theory,protection and reconstruction and other subjects.
