Abstract/Summary:
Due to the economic crisis,the ship market has encountered downturn,which caused a great negative impact on Chinese ship building industry.Ship block manufacturing takes up more than half of the whole shipbuilding time.Therefore,it is significant for shipyards to shorten the total block manufacturing time and reduce production cost accordingly.In this thesis,according to the characteristics of the ship block manufacturing process,the main work are summariezed as follows:1.The characteristics of ship block manufacturing and the schedule system were analyzed in the field study.It is recognized that the ship block manufacturing is one of the discrete events.After investigating the characteristics of discrete event system and its application in the real system,the simulation model with workshop as the constraint and ship block as the object is established.2.The simulation platform named Plant Simulation is selected to construct the basic objects for ship block manufacturing.With the combination with SimTalk language,parametric modeling method has been developed to achieve rapid modeling.3.Taking the ship block production process of a 1700TEU container ship in a shipyard in Zhejiang as an example,we have utilized the existing production plan and further verified that the simulation model was reasonable.With the aim to solve the selection problem of blocks into parallel workshop,the two scheduling methods of FIFS and SPT are applied.4.The genetic algorithm(GA)was selected to optimize the production sequences and generate the optimal one,which help shorten the manufacturing cycle time sigficantly.The potential bottlenecks were also identified through analyzing the workshop utilization,which serves to provide the direction for shipyard’s subsequent optimization.
