Research On Metaphor Expression Of Memorial Architecture Interior Space Design

Memorial architecture is a product of the spiritual emotion in human society and also is a materialization form of the human spiritual emotion,which determines its necessity to contain a certain specific spiritual emotional connotation.The interior space of memorial architecture bears the interior spatial language of a memorial building,and contains the viewer's memorial behavior.In the context of human-oriented era,the voice for human "subject consciousness" is becoming increasingly intense.Therefore,the design method of memorial architecture interior space should focus on the viewer's thinking and emotion,and emphasize the viewer's subjective initiative and re-creativity."Metaphor" is a language expression approach to understand the connotation by provoking thinking and association,which is built on the basis of long-term accumulated human experience.This approach puts emphasis on the thinking participation of aesthetic subject.In the design of memorial architecture interior space,the application of metaphor not only can inject profound meaning into the architecture,but also meets the psychological needs of the public to accept the works in human-oriented era.Therefore,this paper combines the now mature linguistics,psychology and environmental psychology to make an interdisciplinary analysis,and endeavors to study on the "metaphorical expression methods in the design of memorial architecture interior space".The author hopes the research results can provide some inspiration and reference for the relevant theoretical research and practical activity.This paper is mainly divided into four parts.First of all,it analyzes the relevant concepts and features as well as its historical development,thus indicating the importance and feasibility of "metaphorical expression methods" in the design of memorial architecture interior space.Secondly,starting from "features of the viewer's metaphorical cognition",the author proposes the "ambiguity","malleability" and "synchronicity" of "metaphorical cognition".And starting from "rules of the viewer's metaphorical cognition",the author puts forward three stages of metaphorical cognition:from perception to association and finally to comprehension.In addition,taking features and rules of the viewer's metaphorical cognition as the basis,the author presents three ways to promote the viewer's metaphorical cognition,namely "enhance the perception","undertake the scene" and "participate in interaction".In these ways,the viewer will more effectively understand the meaning of metaphorical expression.Thirdly,from two aspects of "the source of metaphorical connotation" and "the choice of metaphorical imagery",the author explains the formation of metaphorical imagination in the design of memorial architecture interior space.Among the two aspects,"the source of metaphorical connotation" serves as the conception material of metaphorical connotation expression,including "the extraction of thematic emotion","the perception of natural environment","the guidance of cultural characteristics" and "the exploration of relevant information",etc.As for "the choice of metaphorical imagery",it sets the standard for the selection of metaphorical connotation,and includes the following four principles:"integrality","dynamicity","emotionality" and"continuity".Fourthly,the author comes up with metaphorical expression methods in the design of memorial architecture interior space.At the level of "entity element",it is suggested to make use of different materials,shapes and scene props to have an intuitive effect on the viewer's sensory system and then to form different experiences and feelings on the viewer,and finally to arouse the viewer's experience structure,provoke his association and understand the metaphorical connotation.At the level of "space elements",it is advised to use "spatial form" to form the spatial design language,and to form an entirety with suitable rhythm and logical relationship in the metaphorical connotation of memorial architecture interior space through the arrangement of "spatial sequence".At the level of "mood creation",it is proposed to apply the three metaphorical expression methods of mood creation,namely "tragic mood","sublime mood" and "freedom mood",to create a harmonious organic whole between the viewer and the external environment.Thereby,the viewer can understand the connotation of "imagery" in the"mood".
