Small-sized cruise missile,belonging to a family of cruise missile,shows a good practicability and deterrent effect. It also has a good economy and versatility. Consequently, it draws a great deal of attention. With the application of new technologies and the improvement of materials, the requirement of small-sized cruise missile hit accuracy and reliability is becoming increasingly high. Reliability study should be carried out on small-sized cruise missile to meet its defined reliability target, especialy for its reseach and design stage, so that it can offer the basis for small-sized cruise missile reliability design or improvement. Hence,the reliability of small-sized cruise missile could be improved, then it could reach its defined reliability target.Research of system reliability consists of reliability allocation, reliability prediction,reliability analysis, reliability test and reliability assessment, etc. Among of them, reliability prediction, reliability analysis and reliability allocation are basic aspects which playing a very important role. Consequently, reliability research about small-sized cruise missile was conducted via reliability modeling, analysis and allocation in this paper, and the details were as follows.(1) Basic components of small-sized cruise missile were introduced, as well as its mission. Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) of small-sized cruise missile system on its mission was built, then, reliability prediction was carried out so as to provide the basis for its reliability design or plans choosing.(2) The weeknesses of small-sized cruise missile system were discovered in terms of quantitative and qualitative aspects, which could offer the basis for its reliability design improvement. Firstly,failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) method was used to analyse small-sized cruise missile system in terms of qualitative aspect,and its failure modes and effects were discovered. Then, its weeknesses were found, and improving suggestions were proposed. Secondly, fault tree analysis (FTA) method was utilized to analyse small-sized cruise missile system in terms of quantitative aspect. Fault tree of small-sized cruise missile system mission failed was built, then, the events or combination of events which may leading to the happening of top event were found out. Occurrence probability of top event was predicted. Critical components of small-sized cruise missile system were figured out via importance measures for basic events.(3) A reliability allocation method was proposed which combines fuzzy comprehensive evalution, interval analysis and analytic hierarchy process. Then, reliability allocating model of small-sized cruise missile system was built. This allocation method was used to allocate reliability to the research object. The result showed that the method was feasible and effective for reliability allocation of small-sized cruise missile system.
