China has 300 square kilometers of ocean area, so the Marine safety is an important strategic problem in China. However, it's not optimistic. One of the tasks of maritime security is detecting and locating enemy submarine. With the development of the submarine stealth technology, the sound level of submarine reflected is more and more lower. This makes the function of the passive sonar reduced in anti-submarine, and the active sonar due to send and receive together, is easy to be found or avoided even damaged by target detection. The transmitter and receiver of multistatic sonar are separated, has the characteristics of active sonar and passive sonar.Target simulator as auxiliary equipment is used in the process of multistatic sonar detection, can simulate the target echo, and is the indispensable equipment in a small cost on test more base sonar functional. The paper based on the multistatic sonar positioning as the research background, design and realize a target simulator to cooperate multistatic sonar detection. This article main research on designing and realizing a sonar target simulator based on OMAP - L138 dual-core processor, the article including the working principle of the simulator, integrated system solutions, the design of simulator hardware circuit, DSP software program development, sea experiment and so on.In the terms of hardware, the design has realized the sonar target simulator based on OMAP - L138 dual-core processor, including the power supply circuit, signal receiving circuit,A/D conversion circuit, D/A conversion circuit, CPLD circuit and OMAP - L138 peripheral interface circuit, network port transmission circuit and so on. In the terms of software, design of the DSP data acquisition program, data forwarding program, realizing the "Ping - Pong"buffer of the collected data, and data transmission of IPC.In the end of this paper,we test the multistatic sonar target simulator system's performance at sea. The distance of the target simulator and multistatic sonar is 20km, in this state the target simulator system basically completed the expected design requirements.
