Research On The Spatial Form And The Defensive Functions Of Minqin Ruian Fort

Nowadays,the regional cultures are more and more converged,so it is conductive to the protection of traditional architecture by recording and inheriting the traditional architectural culture,exploring the regional and ethnic differences of architectural culture and discussing the sustainable development of traditional architecture,at the same time,it is of great reference and instruction significance for architecture design.Fort Ruian is located in Minqin County,Gansu Province and it is the private fort built by the local elite Wang Qingyun.Moreover,it is also the rare landlord fort in Hexi Corridor area,so it is of high research value.The paper sorts out the complex background of Hexi Corridor area and Fort Ruian,then the spatial form of the fort is drawn by adopting the surveying and mapping methods to summarize its function,the spatial artistic conception and the defensiveness.After that,in terms of the spatial form and defensive model,this paper makes transverse comparative analysis of the other forts in Hexi Corridor Area and the typical forts in the South and North of China;it puts forward some new views on the development and protection of the fort-type residential buildings.Finally,the paper extends the tourism mode of regional cultural characteristics in Hexi Corridor.The architectural characteristics of forts in Hexi Corridor are retained by referring to the spatial form and defensive mode.The design elements of the cultural street of fort are extracted and realized in the graduation design.The conclusion of the paper is that the fort architecture of Hexi Corridor with the Ruian fort as the reprehensive has inherited the traditional residential pattern with courtyard spatial organization,at the same time,the construction technology,material selection,decoration style and so on are taken into consideration according to local conditions and all of them are shifted to some extent by combining with the local characteristics,which has manifested the concept of sustainable development.However,it is not optimistic in terms of the status quo of preservation.From the perspective of long-term development,the protection of the Hexi corridor should be carried out by taking a variety of factors into consideration with a lot of industries being involved.In this way,a better protection and utilization effect will be realized so make some contribution to the development of architectural design in the local region.
