The urban signal intersection is the node of the urban road network,and the flow of different types of traffic participants will gather,intertwine,evacuate,the particularity of the function,the complexity of running creates the importance of its status,However,because of the current purpose and means of intersection design is not very clear,lacking of comprehensive evaluation methods and indicators,resulting in the intersection did not release all of its space and time resources,low efficiency,congestion phenomenon is not diminishing,The higher incidence of traffic accidents;more seriously,due to a single intersection of traffic problems(congestion or accidents)will spread to the surrounding roads,and ultimately bring disaster to the city's road network,which seriously reduces the quality of life of the people And constrained the city's economic development.Therefore,it is urgent to evaluate the traffic characteristics at the city signal intersection,to improve the evaluation index system of signalized intersection,to construct the evaluation model of signalized intersection,and to evaluate the urban signalized intersection by effective evaluation method.Based on the study of the traffic characteristics of the urban plane signal intersection,this paper puts forward the evaluation system of the comprehensive evaluation index of the traffic efficiency and safety as the signal intersection.According to the queuing length and the traffic capacity of the traffic signal Delay,saturation,two parking rates,operating speed and traffic safety at the intersection of urban traffic signal,geometric characteristics of intersection,road condition and lighting status.The evaluation methods were selected and established.Based on the model of matter-element evaluation of extenics,the evaluation method of the extension of the city is used to evaluate the urban signal intersection.(1)Analyze the relevant literatures in depth,and analyze the traffic characteristics of motor vehicles,non-motor vehicles and pedestrians at intersections according to the characteristics of urban signal intersections in China,and study the interference characteristics of mixed traffic flow at intersections.(2)Based on the analysis of the traffic characteristics of urban signalized intersections,the traffic efficiency and safety of urban signalized intersections are selected as the evaluation criteria,and the queuing length,traffic capacity,The vehicle is delayed,the saturation rate,the two parking rates,the running speed,the traffic conflict,the geometric characteristics of the intersection,the road condition and the lighting condition are quantitatively processed to construct the evaluation index system.(3)Considering the many methods of evaluation,different methods have their own advantages and disadvantages,and the comprehensive evaluation of the evaluation method is adopted,and the material element evaluation model based on the extension is selected.The elemental evaluation model based on extenics can maximize the satisfaction of incompatible contradictions in the system into compatible relations,so that it can be reasonably and effectively evaluated.(4)Taking the intersection of a road in Chongqing as an example,the evaluation index system is constructed,the material element evaluation model based on the extension is established,and the traffic condition of the intersection is evaluated synthetically.
