The Application Of Literary Rhetoric In Modern Architecture Design

As the objective reflection of social activity,the architecture changed accordingly with the development of society.Currently,the rich lifestyles and different spirit pursuits of people put forward the requirements for the diversified functions of the architectures.In order to realize those functions,much deeper researches were made on the architectural design,especially on the design methods.This paper made a relatively new trial to the explorations of architectural design method through the introduction of literature rhetoric.Besides,literature was the most prosperous branch of Chinese culture and the rhetoric was also a branch of literature.The introduction of literary rhetorical devices not only deepened our understanding of language and rhetoric,but also enhanced our comprehension of Chinese culture.It also accelerated our study of architectural design,especially the design made for the cultural connotations of architecture.As for the research methods,due to the different disciplines of literature rhetoric and architectural design,literature reading was used to get a general knowledge of those two disciplines.The inner connections of those two disciplines were searched through comparative and comprehensive analysis.Based on the fundamental contents of literature rhetoric,the collected examples of design were analyzed to draw a conclusion.So the methods used in the research were as follows: literature reading,cases collection,interdisciplinary study,comparative study and analysis.As for the research contents,this paper is divided into four parts.The first part covers the research backgrounds,purposes,significance,the basic contents of this task and the methods used in this research.The second part gives an analysis of the feasibility of applying literary rhetorical devices into the architectural design,and use a breakthrough point in its application to provide theoretical supports for the successful application of literary rhetorical devices.In the third part,the concrete analysis is made on the application of rhetorical devices in architectural design with the combination of specific cases.The last part is the suggestions and recommendations for the easy arisen problems after the conclusion of the principles and methods in the application of rhetorical devices in architectural design.All in all,from the perspective of literature rhetoric,the author makes explorations to the architectural design method,hoping to provide wider threads of thoughts on its structures,functions and cultural connotations in the future.
