As a safe and effective passive damping control technology,base isolation technology has been extensively used in multistory buildings, which has achieved a good effect in improving the seismic performance and reducing cost, and gradually applied to high-rise and super high-rise buildings. Base-isolated high-rise building structures exist stability against overturning, torsion, comfort under the wind load and so on, especially more particular for high-rise buildings in high seismic intensity and strong wind zone as Haikou.In this paper, a typical high-rise residential building with I-shaped plan, popularly used in regions of north Hainan as Haikou and Wenchang, is chosen to be the research object. Firstly, by refining and simplifying the selected lateral force resisting structural scheme, a classical analysis model of the body structure is obtained. Then, it is the analyzed and studied that the seismic resistant performances and seismic-isolated performances of the structure, by adopting the base-isolated design method and by using structural analysis software, YJK and MIDAS GEN, respectively. The main conclusions obtained in this paper are the following:(1) By massive reading the special literature, to fully understand the basic principles,features,advantages and research situation of base isolation system,to carefully analyze the basic steps, operation process and difficult problems of the design method, to analyze the dynamic analysis equation of its seismic response, and to discuss its solving method and process;(2) To refine and simplify a typical body structure seismic analysis model of the high-rise residential building with I-shaped plan. To set up the seismic resistant structure model (which is checked by YJK software) and base-isolated structure model by MIDAS GEN software. To choose a reasonable seismic isolation scheme by comparing the two seismic isolation scheme, and then studies the scope of its application;(3) To simulate and calculate the time history responses of the seismic resistant structure and the base-isolated structure, under frequent and rarely earthquake respectively,to calculate the displacements of the isolation layer, so as to ensure the rationality of the isolation structure setting; Secondly, to study structure's dynamic performances, such as maximum shear force, floor drifts, top floor acceleration, etc., to compare and analyze the superiority of the base-isolated structure.(4) To analyze the strength, stability under the equivalent static wind load, and the comfort under pulsating wind, of the base-isolated structure.
