In recent years, ultra high-rise buildings of super height and advanced structure are widely constructed. The shear wall structure with good seismic performance has been widely applied in high-rise residential buildings. Based on a project in Lanzhou, the study makes structural seismic performance analyses and proposes the effective measures to strengthen the key components so as to improve the structure security standards and energy consumption levels, therefore ensuring a good overall ductility and the predetermined seismic performance.This paper analyzes seismic performances of a large number of high-rise shear wall structures, compared the varied influences of the wall layout, plane shear wall reinforcement ratio on the structure, and identifies the problems in the practical application, some of which are fully discussed in the paper. So the paper provides the reference for the performance-based seismic design of this type of projects. The following are the main conclusions in the paper:(1) The first period of vibration is linearly in proportional to the stiffness of the structure. (2) The shearing force corresponding to the horizontal earthquake action is in proportional to the stiffness of the structure.(3) The floor displacement of the structure is inversely proportional to the stiffness of the structure, being a linear relationship. To control the structure displacement, to increase stiffness is still one of the preferred solutions. Another finding in the actual operation process is that compared with the change of wall thickness, the increase in the number of shear wall can more effectively improve the stiffness of the structure.(4) The comprehensive analysis shows that the increase of the distribution reinforcement ratio of the shear wall reinforcing area in the bottom can not improve the elastoplastic seismic performance of the structure under severe earthquake. In the specific designing, it is often proved very effective and advisable that the adjustment of quantity of shear wall is done first.This research can provide reference for engineering design personnel in the analysis of the seismic performance of high-rise shear wall structure. It is also the technical support for the execution of the norms and the application of the seismic designing based on performance in real projects.
