Research On The Spatial Pattern And Architectural Form Of The Old Industrial Settlements In Northeast China

With the founding of New China and the establishment of planned economy system,China's national economy recovered quickly.In this backdrop,the country built a great number of industrial settlements while vigorously developing heavy industries,in order to solve the problem of housing shortage.Growing up together with the New China,these industrial areas not only witnessed the prosperity of the country,but also carried the ideals of several generations of industrial workers.With the development of the social economy,these industrial settlements being influenced by multiple factors have already lost their glamour.Some of them were even demolished.Through detailed research,this article aims to show the values of these old industrial settlements in Northeast China and to provide a basis and support for the protection of such historical buildings.The first part introduced the origin of the topic,defined the time range and territory of the object and reviewed the condition of previous relevant studies,which laid a foundation for further study later.Starting with the development of China's modern industrial settlements,the second part described the development status of the industrial settlements in Northeast China,summarized the general information and status of the main industrial settlements in this region,providing comprehensive historical basis for in-depth analysis of the remains of these industrial settlements.The third part dissected the formation and evolution of the spatial patterns of these industrial settlements from the angle of architecture through induction and summary as well as their influencing factors.The fourth part compared the differences between China's industrial settlements and Soviet Union's worker residences in terms of design and use,and summarized the influences of different time nodes in time order on the architectural forms of industrial settlements in Northeast China and proposed methods for the improvement.The last part analyzed the core value of the old industrial settlements,pointed out the problems existing in their protection at present and put forward the corresponding improvement suggestions aiming at specific problems.The purpose of this article is to make certain contributions to the protection of the old industrial settlements in Northeast China and to provide a reference for future practice in this field.
