The Research On Suitability Of Residential Interior Space Design For The Aged In The Mode Of Aging In Place

The improvement of China’s comprehensive national strength,the progress made in science and technology and medicine,the elevation of living standard and quality as well as the long-term effective implementation of the family planning policy caused the acceleration of aging process and the increasing serious social aging problem,which makes China face a huge challenge in social development.The physical condition of the aged is declining,so it is not suitable for them to spend much time outdoors.How to improve their life quality and living conditions based on original living environment and how to create a more convenient and comfortable residential interior space for them have become a hot spots of society to be solved,so the problem of residence for the aged can not be underestimated,but be the general concern for the whole society.This paper focuses on studying the suitability of residential interior space for the aged in the mode of aging in place in Changchun City,and explores the characteristics of this special group from a multidisciplinary perspective.The author fully understood the intention of the aged and found out the the living problem of residential interior space for the aged by the means of questionnaire of the aged family,in-depth visit,field research,and the analysis of domestic and foreign pension model and current situation,so I put forward the "aging in place" model,which is the most suitable one for China’s basic national condition.This paper combined the universal theory of the aged,the theory of spatial behavior,the theory of human settlements and the theory of lifelong dwelling together and concluded the suitability design of residential interior space for the aged should follow the principles like locality,sociality,comfort,intelligent,barrier-freeand multi-scale,and put forward the suitability design of the existing residential space in Changchun City.The paper puts forward the corresponding solutions and designs to solve the difficulties in the mode of “aging in place” from the aspects of identifiability,security,adaptability,transformability,diversity and interactivity,hoping that some housing problem for the aged can be solved through the research results.In the end of the paper,the author also explored and attempted positively the transformation of house type,making the development of residence possess more potential to realize the ambitious goal that old age care,the society,the economy and the culture could go hand in hand.
