Urban agriculture generally refers to modern agriculture in the surrounding areas of the city,it m akes full use of city tec hnology,capital and hum an resources,to provide a modern city do not have the agricultural environment and agricu ltural products for city residents.In the integration of urban and rural developm ent today,the traditional development mode of agriculture,has lo st its advantage in the development of small towns surrounding the city,urban agriculture with its economic,ecological,scientific,functional and ope n gradually replaced the traditional agriculture in many small cities and towns.And the development of urban agriculture in small towns economic growth at the sam e time,indirectly led to the planning and construction of small towns,but because of the development of construction mode of China's current fast pace,making the planning blindly follow the trend of many small towns,blindly seeking scale,for econom y,ignoring the many urban original features,produce a number of adverse effects on the long-term development of small towns.In the context of the dev elopment of urban agriculture,pl anning the developm ent of small towns,dealing with the relationship between agriculture and sm all towns,has become the focus of the development of small towns.In this paper,the Wuhan River town of Caidian as the object of study,the first part introduces the backgr ound,purpose and significance of the study.Based on the analysis of the existing problems of population,land and food in the world and China,this paper puts forward the necess ity of the development of urban agricu lture,and points out the theoretical and practical si gnificance of th e development of urba n agriculture.The second part is abo ut the definition of urban agriculture and sm all towns and the development of domestic and foreign research.Firstly,the definition of urban agriculture and small towns,and then introduces the related theory of this paper which are the theory of garden city,dunen circle theory,new urbanization theory and the theory of urban-rural integration,fina lly analyzes the development status of domestic and foreign urban agriculture and small towns.The third part analyzes the small town planning from the perspective of urban agriculture in ch ina.This paper firstly analyses the relationship of urban ag riculture in small towns,and then through the analysis of th e small town planning,urban ag riculture under the background of planning principle,puts forward the existing small towns planning and construction of urban agriculture in China under the persp ective of the problem.The fourth part through the research of s mall town planni ng system of ur ban agriculture from the perspective of the analysis of the urban agriculture from the perspective of the overall planning of small towns the connotation,function and goal,and summ ed up the lack of overall planning of traditional s mall towns on the developm ent of urban agriculture.In the fifth part,through the concrete analysis of the planning of W uhan town of Caidian District,the paper tests how to plan the small town in the perspective of urban agriculture,and puts forward his own views and strategies.The last part is the summary and Prospect of this paper,I hope my research will be further developed in the future.The development of urban agriculture in our country has just started,the future course of developm ent is still far away.With the rapid r ise of small towns,urban agriculture has become an important industry in the developm ent of small towns,the development mode of the ecological,intensiv e,scientific,industrialization to realize the integration of urban and rural areas,narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas plays an im portant role.W ith its unique advantages,ur ban agriculture has injected new vitality into the development of small towns.
