The 13th Five-year Plan pointed out that the national railway will be built 'eight vertical eight horizontal' high-speed railway network. The rapid development of high-speed railway makes the moving block system become the research focus of scholars. The moving block system, which has become the development trend of train signal control system, greatly shorten the tracking interval and improve operation efficiency of the trains. There are two operation modes of moving block system, the mode of hitting a hard wall and the mode of hitting a soft wall. The mode of hitting a soft wall can get greater efficiency, but the mode of hitting a hard wall has better safety performance. In this paper, based on the study of the operation modes of moving block system,we propose the mode of hitting a quasi-soft wall by improving the mode of hitting a soft wall.A combined protection method is proposed for special operation condition. Finally, the simulation model of the train tracking operation is designed and implemented.Combined with the example, the simulation of train operation under various operation modes is carried out.By comparing and analyzing the simulation curves of various operation modes, the performance of the modes are obtained. The main contents are as follows:According to the relevant literature and examples of moving block system both here and abroad, the principle and structure of moving block system are analyzed, the key technologies are studied, and conclude its characteristics advantages by comparing with the traditional block system. The operation modes of moving block system are studied.Base on the analysis of the running process of trains.the mode of hitting a hard wall and the mode of hitting a soft wall are discussed.Base on the principle of relative motion, the operation mechanism of the train is studied, and the minimum interval and interval variation in the course of train tracking is explored. And the efficiency of the mode of hitting a hard wall and the mode of hitting a soft wall is compared theoretically and qualitatively. Then, the minimum tracking interval and the efficiency of the mode of hitting a hard wall and the mode of hitting a soft wall are simulated and compared by using MATLAB software and the parameters of the CRH2-300 train. The mode of hitting a quasi-soft wall is studied.First of all,the safety of the operation modes of moving block are discussed by setting up their physical models. Then, based on the characteristics of two operation modes, this paper put forward the mode of hitting a quasi-soft wall.We build its model, analysis its possible states and discuss the parameters of the model. The minimum tracking interval of the model is calculated and simulated, and the performance of the mode is evaluated qualitatively. Finally this paper makes a study on the scene of a big different speed of the successive trains, and proposes a combined protection method. At the end of article,we analyze the simulation model of the trains tracking operation, design and implement its each sub module.Simulation of trains tracking operation is carried out based on the specific line data and train parameters.By comparing with the simulation curves of different operation modes,we investigate its performance. The mode of hitting a quasi-soft wall can shorten the tracking interval and improve the tracking efficiency.Safety, comfort and stability performance are better than the hitting a hard wall mode's.Its anti-interference ability and recovery function of the road network are also excellent. The combined protection method always make the tracking interval of the train to be the smallest, and the interval running time is shortest.
