The transportation capacity of busy sections of single track railways in China is getting tighter and tighter with the development of social and economy,and the effective improvement of the carrying capacity of such lines is an urgent problem to be solved at present.The gradual improvement of Beidou Navigation Satellite System will provide a strong impetus for the development of rail intelligence.Single track railways tend to adopt a more efficient moving block system to enhance their transportation capacity with the development of advanced train operation control technology.We firstly outlined the core functions,research status and application prospect of Beidou Navigation Satellite System based on the above research background,and proposed the technical support of train control system based on BDS to realize the moving block mode.Secondly,we developed a train operation plan in the moving block system,and constructed a train tracking operation simulation model with the help of cellular automaton theory.After that,we adjusted the model parameters to study the train flow characteristics of moving block system under different transportation conditions,and analyzed the traffic efficiency of moving block system by comparing inter-station block and quasi-moving block systems.Finally,we explored the capacity enhancement efficiency of moving block mode on the actual line taking the Gera section of Qinghai-Tibet Railway as the research object.The main research works are as follows:(1)The key technology and function research of moving block system for single track railway.We summarized the advantages of moving block mode applied to single track railways and analyzed the functional requirements of moving block mode.Comparing the advanced train control technology at home and abroad,we summarized the development direction of the train operation control system for rail and outlined the technical support of the core functions of train control system based on BDS to realize the moving block system.(2)The development of train operation plan and the construction of cellular automaton model under moving block mode of single track railway.We developed a train departure scheme,a scheme for trains running in the district,and a train entry scheme in the moving block mode,and constructed the corresponding train flow simulation model based on the ability of train control system based on BDS to grasp the spatial location and attributes of infrastructure and equipment such as lines and stations in real time,the high-precision spatial location and speed changes of trains,and a series of other factors affecting the safety of train operation.The tracking interval time,the arrival intervals and meeting intervals of trains in opposite directions,and the arrival-departure and departure-arrival intervals of trains in the same direction at the station are considered in the model.The results show that when we change the mixing ratio of passenger and freight trains,the departure interval time of the originating station,the fixed stopping time of freight trains and the maximum running speed of passenger and freight trains,the train flow characteristics of the railway in moving block mode will be changed and the line passing capacity will fluctuate according to a certain rule.(3)Analysis of train flow characteristics under different block systems and investigation of moving block efficiency.We constructed a corresponding model of train operation decision combining the train operation characteristics under different block modes,and quantitatively analyzed the average running speed of trains and line passing capacity under different block modes by simulating the mixed passenger and freight trains in both directions of single track railways for multiple times.The statistical results of a large number of simulation data show that compared with inter-station block mode,moving block and quasi-moving block system can significantly improve the transport capacity of single track railway,and the train operation efficiency is the highest in moving block mode.The effect of moving block system on capacity of single track railway varies by changing the train mixing ratio,departure interval time and station spacing.(4)Research on the expansion of the Gera section of Qinghai-Tibet Railway by changing the block system.We selected a district of the Gera section of Qinghai-Tibet Railway as the research object,and simulated the time-space diagram of train operation by changing the ratio of passenger and freight trains to obtain the characteristics of inter-station block and moving block system.A large amount of statistical data provides the theoretical basis for the expansion plan of moving block system in this single track railway.
