The Symbiosis Of Berlin's Urban New Buildings And Historical Environment

In the 21 st century,the excessive urban construction and the indifference to traditional context show a lot of disadvantages obviously.The importance of historical environment for architectural design has become apparent increasingly.The relationship between new buildings and historical environment is a very complicated and huge project.We are trying to find a balance between conservation and innovation,coordination and conflict constantly.If we can't deal with this problem,that will cause irreversible damage to the urban context.Especially for high-speed developing countries such as China,New buildings which have a common pursuit of novelty are springing up,but the consciousness and experience of protection to historical environment are not enough,that will destroy the historical environment,make the local characteristics of cities disappear.Based on these problems,I choose the new buildings in Berlin's historical environment as my research object,trying to find a solution through the summary and analysis of Berlin's urban construction.The full text is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is introduction.The second chapter is about Berlin's historical environment.This chapter summarizes and analyses Berlin's urban historical environment and the current situation of Berlin's development.This chapter also expounds the important influence of historical environment to Berlin's city construction.The third chapter is about new buildings in Berlin's historical environment.This chapter analyses Berlin's new buildings under different construction stages after the Second World War and the evolution about relationship between new buildings and historical environment.It also chooses some typical examples to make research and analysis.The fourth chapter based on former three chapters,proposes the symbiosis of Berlin's new buildings and historical environment,makes detailed analysis through abundant examples: 1.Two contradictions against the symbiosis of Berlin's new buildings and historical environment.(new and old,region and world)2.Four basic methods about the symbiosis of Berlin's new buildings and historical environment.(Dynamic update,genius loci,space repair,urban texture)3.Seven design skills about the symbiosis of Berlin's new buildings and historical environment.(Harmony and unification,comparison and conflict,diversification,historical symbol,material vocabulary,sensory experience,big to small)4.The regret of contemporary Berlin's new buildings and historical environment on symbiosis.The last chapter is conclusion.
