In the process of urban development,there are different problems of traffic,especially for urban traffic congestion.That is the development of urban road network can`t meet people's travel requirement,which led to the decline in urban operating efficiency.In recent years,the problem of urban traffic congestion has become increasingly serious in the country,and has gradually became one of the hot topics of social concern.Traffic congestion has brought great influence to the comprehensive function and benefit of the city.The realization and transmission of urban economic and social activities are based on urban transport network,and the level of urban transport network directly affects the daily operation of cities and the normal operation of enterprises.Therefore,analysis of Urban Traffic Carrying Capacity is very important for us to understand and solve the problem of urban traffic congestion and to promote the coordinated development of urban economic and social system and transportation system.This paper have summarized the research status of urban traffic carrying capacity at home and abroadfirstly.On the basis of summarizing,this paper clears that the study is based on the coordination relationship between traffic demand and traffic supply.Secondly,this paper explores the measurement methods of traffic demand and traffic supply,and puts forward the evaluation index system of urban traffic carrying capacity.Finally,this paper constructs the evaluation model of urban traffic carrying capacity based on the coupled coordination model.The model uses the land use data and the road network data as the data source,and uses the coupling coordination degree model to analyze the coordination between the traffic generation quantity and the traffic supply quantity,and finally the urban traffic carrying capacity distribution and the allocation time distribution are obtained.This paper chooses the core area of Jinan City to do empirical research,where urban construction is more developed and road network distribution is more intensive,and uses the late peak traffic jam data in Jinan to validate.There shows good prediction results.It means that the model can evaluate the distribution of traffic carrying capacity more objectively and accurately in the study area.The results show that the evaluation results of the traffic carrying capacity assessment model can reflect the supply and demand relationship of urban traffic intuitively,and the time series of land development and traffic facilities can be scientifically arranged in space and time.It can provide good technical support for urban planning department and land management department to plan and manage urban planning and provide scientific basis for constructing livable city.
